A graduate of nearby Oakland University, Todd Dressell is entering his 11th season as the man in charge of the Titan Fencing program.
A member of the Oakland University Fencing Club while in college, Dressell has remained active in the fencing community since graduating. Upon graduation, Dressell moved to the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he coached the school’s club team from 1992-96.
Upon leaving his post at UM-Dearborn, Dressell helped to found the Renaissance Fencing Club in nearby Madison Heights. Dressell is active with the club to this day, as both an owner and instructor.
Dressell came to Detroit in 1998 and inherited a team with a great deal of tradition. The 1972 fencing team is the only team from Detroit to win an NCAA National Championship. It is with great pride and dedication that Todd continues to cultivate and nurture fencing at UDM.
Dressell and his wife Christine reside in Royal Oak with their two children.
