The Detroit Titans Athletic Department announced an exclusive agreement with Nike today – Nike will now provide apparel for all 19 of the Titans' Division I varsity teams as part of the deal.
"We are very excited about the new agreement with Nike," Director of Athletics Keri Gaither said. "Last year when we unveiled our new logos and re-designed athletics marks, we talked about the importance of branding and image for the Titan program. Having all our teams in Nike's newest uniforms, shoes and other apparel will give us even more consistency."
In the near future, Titan fans will be able to “Wear What the Titans Wear” by purchasing officially-licensed Detroit Titan Logoed Nike products on-line and at Calihan Hall in the Titan Gift Shop. The partnership features multiple revenue opportunities for Titan Athletics, including a VIP program that will allow Titan Club members an exclusive opportunity to purchase a variety of non-UDM Nike items through the Titan website at a significant discount, with a portion of the proceeds coming back to the University.
As part of the agreement, which complements Nike's current agreement with the Titan men's basketball team, UDM will also partner with Signature Sports, based out of Clinton Township, as the Titans' official Nike product supplier.
