The University of Detroit Mercy women’s lacrosse squad opened up its exhibition season today and walked away with a 2-2 mark as the Titans faced four total schools for 30-minute games at St. Bonaventure.
Six different UDM players scored in the Titans’ 6-1 win over St. Francis (PA) in sophomores
Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN / Totino-Grace),
Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON / Donald A. Wilson Secondary),
Alyssa Shaver (Flint, MI / Carman-Ainsworth) and
Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON / Anderson CVI), along with junior
Hilary Petcoff (Bloomfield Hills, MI / Academy of Sacred Heart), as well as freshman
Madison Noland (Dallas, TX / J.J. Pearce). In addition, Eidem and Boissonneault each dished out one assist in the win.
In Detroit’s 6-1 victory over Bucknell, Boissonneault netted three goals, while Eidem and Noland added two and one, respectively.
“It was good to play other teams on a full field together for the first time today,” said Detroit head coach
Mary Ann Meltzer. “Overall, I am happy with how the team played and now we will gear up for Northwestern.”
Eidem scored all three of Detroit’s goal in the Titans 5-3 loss to St. Bonaventure and UDM dropped a 6-1 decision to Lock Haven in the second game of the day.
The Titans will wrap up their exhibition season at five-time defending national champion Northwestern on Oct. 8 at 5 p.m.
