The Titan women’s golfers find themselves in 10th place after Monday’s first 18 holes of the Zippy Invitational, hosted by the University of Akron. The second round was suspended by darkness and will be finished Tuesday morning.
UDM strung together a round of 341, and its total is just three strokes behind ninth-place Ferris State. Grand Valley State (311) holds a one-shot lead over Toledo in the raced for first place.
Individually, juniors Alainna Stefan and Marni Achterhoff paced the Titans over the first round as each of them posted an 82 to share 22nd place on the individual score board.
The 16 teams in the field will return to Rosemont Country Club at 9:00 Tuesday morning to complete Monday’s remaining holes and then begin the final round of the tournament.
