The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team will wrap up its exhibition season on Thursday against five-time defending national champion, Northwestern, in Evanston, IL, at 5:15 p.m.
"It is also going to be a great experience to play a national powerhouse like Northwestern," said Detroit head coach
Mary Ann Meltzer. "This game will give us another chance to see how we compete against other teams."
In Detroit's exhibition season opener, the Titans garnered a 2-2 overall record at St. Bonaventure as Detroit played in four 30-minute games on Oct. 3. Six different UDM players scored in the Titans’ 6-1 win over St. Francis (PA) in sophomores
Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN / Totino-Grace),
Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON / Donald A. Wilson Secondary),
Alyssa Shaver (Flint, MI / Carman-Ainsworth) and
Corina Mahorn (Whitby, ON / Anderson CVI), along with junior
Hilary Petcoff (Bloomfield Hills, MI / Academy of Sacred Heart), as well as freshman
Madison Noland (Dallas, TX / J.J. Pearce). In addition, Eidem and Boissonneault each dished out one assist in the win.
In Detroit’s 6-1 victory over Bucknell, Boissonneault netted three goals, while Eidem and Noland added two and one, respectively.
Eidem scored all three of Detroit’s goal in the Titans 5-3 loss to St. Bonaventure and UDM dropped a 6-1 decision to Lock Haven in the second game of the day.
