"All Kids Get In Free." It's that simple on Sunday at the Detroit Titans' basketball doubleheader at Calihan Hall, which opens the much-anticipated 2009-10 home season.
The day at UDM will tip off with the Titan women's team taking on 10th-ranked Michigan State at noon. The men's team then hosts in-state rival Western Michigan at 3:00 p.m., with one ticket good for admission to both games. And kids 18 and under will receive free admission.
"We want to sell out Calihan Hall on opening day," said Director of Athletics Keri Gaither, referring to the exciting doubleheader. "In the current economy, families are looking for fun, yet inexpensive, things to do with their kids. We thought letting kids in for free was a terrific way to get the college basketball season off to a great start – and we want everyone in the community to feel welcome."
Under second-year head coaches Autumn Rademacher (women) and Ray McCallum (men), the Titans are expecting great things in 2009-10, and fans attending Sunday's doubleheader will get an early chance to cheer on the new Detroit teams. Take advantage of the free ticket opportunity!
Adult ticket prices are just $12 and $10, and the free ticket promotion is open to everyone 18 and under. The Titan Ticket Office, located in Calihan Hall, will be open on Friday, Nov. 13 from 9:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m. and also on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Fans can call (313) 993-1700 or stop by to purchase tickets or pick-up free youth tickets during these times.
