Detroit women's lacrosse head coach
Mary Ann Meltzer is pleased to announce the Titans' four captains for the 2010 season: sophomores
Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson),
Anna Eidem (Champlin, MN/Totino-Grace),
Mel Hicks (Jacksonville, FL/Bartram Trail) and
Corina Mahorn (Whtiby, ON/Anderson CVI).
"This is a great group of individuals that will represent our team as captains, both on and off the field," said Meltzer. "They each bring a different leadership quality which will complement each other to help lead such a young squad."
The selection process for the captains was done by voting from both the team and the coaching staff.
Thoughts from the captains:
"It's really going to work out having the four of us as captains just because we are all very different in our playing styles, positions and attitudes," commented Boissonneault. "I think it'll be good for us to be able to collaborate throughout the season with our different opinions and our skills."
"The four captains that were chosen are a great combination," stated Eidem. "We each have different strengths that we bring to the team and I believe that putting them all together is going to be great leadership for this team to have a great year."
"I'm excited for the four of us," added Hicks. "I think that we know the team pretty well and we'll be able to bring a lot to the team and believe that it'll be a great experience."
"It means a lot to me that my teammates think of me as a leader on this team," said Mahorn. "I think the four of us have a lot to bring to the table in terms of experience and I have every confidence that it's going to be a good year."
