UDM Men's Basketball Practice Report – Nov. 2

After a very successful start to the season, the UDM men's basketball team went back to work, reviewing the game film from the 92-51 exhibition victory over Ohio Dominican and getting ready for Friday's final pre-season game against Adrian College. Detroit senior Thomas Kennedy and junior Lamar Lee sat down on Monday before practice to shed some light on the Titans as the official opening of the season is just nine days away.

Senior forward Thomas Kennedy

His reaction to the Titans' 41-point exhibition victory.

It was fun to go out there and play and beat up on somebody other then ourselves. We played as a team and did some good things, but we still have a lot of work to do.

On the goal of the two exhibition games.

The big thing is to just improve our team chemistry. We also need to get into our sets and run them right so that is what the exhibition games allow us to do.

On his effort against Ohio Dominican collecting 11 rebounds.

I am just trying to be successful and help the team in any way I can besides scoring. I know that I have to do more than just score for us to be successful.

What was the best thing coming out of the exhibition game, and what UDM needs to work on the most going into the Adrian exhibition.

Our approach. We went out and played as a team. There was no arguing over who is taking shots. Everyone did what they had to do out there. One of the biggest things we need to work on is finding the open man and hitting shots. We did not do a good job of making three's and we missed some free throws.

Junior guard Lamar Lee

On the team's focus after the exhibition win.

You always feel good after a win. We played hard and competed everyday in practice and we brought that to the game so we need to continue to do that throughout the long season.

What he is working on the most in practice.

I am just going out there and competing everyday. It is all about being prepared and playing hard. I am also working on getting the ball up the floor faster and getting guys in a position where they can score.

On the team's attitude during the pre-season games.

Anytime you go out there, you want to play your best regardless of the opponent. We need to get used to playing with each other and that is what we are doing. We need to get ready for that first game at Cal.
