Titans Ranked 20th In This Week's Mid-Major Poll

Buoyed by three victories over the weekend at the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer and four straight wins overall, the Titans cracked the ranks of this week's Mid-Major Top 25, as picked by CollegeInsider.com.

Ranked 20th, the Titans are one of five new teams in latest mid-major poll, joined in that category by Cal State Fullerton, Ohio, Northern Colorado and Murray State. Detroit's Horizon League rival, Butler, returned to first place in the poll, while a second HL team, Wright State, stands 13th.

Detroit defeated Robert Morris, host Albany and Alcorn State in the 2K Sports Classic sub-regional. Titans center Eli Holman was named MVP of the event, and was joined on the All-Tournament team by forward Xavier Keeling.

The poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast. Thirty-one head coaches do the weekly balloting.
