SERIES RECORD
Detroit owns a 1-2 record in the overall series with Georgia. Last season, the Titans captured a historic 70-66 win over then #23 UGA at Calihan Hall on Nov. 22. In the first meeting of this series, the Bulldogs claimed an 87-47 win on Jan. 11, 1988 in Athens, GA, and UGA won the following season in Detroit by a score of 98-54 on Dec. 19.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

Georgia owns a flawless 10-0 record heading into Tuesday's match-up and as of Dec. 20, the Bulldogs were ranked #11 in the Associated Press Poll and #12 in the USA Today/ESPN Poll. UGA won its last outing by a score of 69-53 over visiting Virginia this past Sunday. Freshman Jasmine James is averaging a team-best 14.5 points per game for the Bulldogs, while junior Porsha Phillips leads UGA with 7.8 rpg.

PEACHY KEEN
Detroit and Georgia's rematch is on Dec. 22 in Athens. Last season, the Titans captured a historic 70-66 victory over then 23rd-ranked Georgia at Calihan Hall on Nov. 22. Then Detroit senior Zemora Davis led all scorers with 20 points, while senior Brigid Mulroy added 15 and sophomore Lauren Allen collected a double-double tying a game-high 11 rebounds and adding 13 points for the Titans.

ALLEN IN ACTION
Sophomore Lauren Allen came off the bench to score a season-high and team-best 12 points against Michigan on Dec. 19 after making a season-best five field goals. Allen tied for a game-high three steals and added one assist and two rebounds in 28 minutes of play.

LANGHAM'S OPENER
Junior Tayler Langham made her debut with the Titans this past Saturday against Michigan as she scored a team second-best nine points, grabbed a team second-best six rebounds and added one steal in 22 minutes of play.

BIG TEN TEAMS TO CALIHAN
Michigan was the second Big Ten team to visit Calihan Hall this year as Detroit opened up its home slate with a match-up against Michigan State on Nov. 15 and faced off with the Wolverines on Dec. 19. The last time UDM hosted both of these teams was during the 2001-02 season.

IS SANTA MISSING A HELPER?
Sophomore Jalesa Jones dished out a team-high five assists against Michigan on Dec. 19. Jones has 46 assists thus far this season and is currently ranked first in the Horizon League as she is averaging 5.1 apg.

FABULOUS FAMBRO
Freshman Demeisha Fambro came off the bench to tie for a team-best 15 points and also tied for a team-best two steals at Morehead State on Dec. 13.

SPAUDE'S DEBUT
Sophomore Sierra Spaude played her first game in a Titan uniform on Dec. 13 at Morehead State. In 22 minutes of play, Spaude drained one from long range, pulled down four rebounds and added two assists for the Titans.

DOUBLIN' UP
Detroit had five players score in double figures at Morehead State on Dec. 13. Sophomore Jalesa Jones and freshman Demeisha Fambro tied for a team-high 15 points, while freshman Kassandra Hooten scored 14. Sophomore Yar Shayok and senior Brigid Mulroy added 12 and 10, respectively.

GIVING TO CHARITY
Freshman Kassandra Hooten had a flawless 4-of-4 showing at the line at Morehead State on Dec. 13.

NEW PERSONAL STANDARD
Sophomore Jalesa Jones netted a career-high 15 points, which tied for a team second-best at Morehead State on Dec. 13.

HORTEN CLEARLY HEARS A 'WHO'
Freshman Kassandra Hooten started her second game of the season on Dec. 13 and ended with a team third-best and personal-high 14 points for her second consecutive game scoring in double figures. Against Bowling Green (Dec. 9), she came off the bench to score a team-high and then personal-best 12 points after shooting 4-of-11 from the field and making her lone attempt from long range.

BEST IN THE NATION
In the latest NCAA National Rankings (thru Dec. 13), senior Brigid Mulroy ranks third in 3-point field goal pct. (.610) and 16th in 3-point field goals made (3.1/gm). In addition, as a team, the Titans are 12th in the nation in 3-point field goal pct. (.400).

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Sophomore Yar Shayok has grabbed double figure rebounds in every game, except for three. She set a career-high of 14 at Oakland (Nov. 13), grabbed 10 at against both Michigan State (Nov. 15) and Cincinnati (Nov. 21), pulled down a game-high 12 caroms at Indiana State (Dec. 1), collected a game-best 13 rebounds against EMU (Dec. 5) and pulled down a team-high 11 versus U-M (Dec. 19).

MUST BE SANTA
No, it wasn't Santa, but freshman Demeisha Fambro who poured in a game-high 22 points, which included a perfect 5-of-5 showing at the line, against Eastern Michigan (Dec. 5). Fambro was one rebound shy of collecting a double-double as she grabbed a team third-best nine boards and she also tallied a game-high four steals against the Eagles.

STONER'S DEBUT
Sophomore walk-on Jaimee Stoner made her collegiate debut on Dec. 5 against Eastern Michigan. Stoner saw 13 minutes of action, collected one steal and netted her first collegiate basket off an assist from former walk-on, senior Brigid Mulroy.

BLOCK PARTY
Sophomore Yar Shayok collected a career-high and game-best two blocks against Bowling Green on Dec. 9.

WHERE IN THE HORIZON LEAGUE?
As of Dec. 21, senior Brigid Mulroy is first among conference peers in 3-point field goal pct. (.578) and is second in 3-point field goals made (2.9/gm). She is tied for fourth among conference peers in scoring (14.4 ppg), is sixth in field goal percentage (.500) and is eighth in defensive rebounds (3.8/gm). Sophomore Yar Shayok is currently first in the Horizon League in rebounds (9.7 rpg), is 12th in scoring (12.1 ppg), second in defensive rebounds (6.6/gm) and is fifth in offensive rebounds (3.1/gm). In addition, sophomore Jalesa Jones is first in assists (5.1 apg) and third in assist/turnover ratio (1.6), while freshman Demeisha Fambro is 14th in scoring (11.1 ppg) and sophomore Lauren Allen is tied for seventh in steals (1.7/gm).

BOARD WORK, NOT BRIDGE WORK
Senior Brigid Mulroy pulled down a career-high and game second-best 12 rebounds against Eastern Michigan on Dec. 5.

JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE BELLS
Sophomore Yar Shayok collected her third double-double of the season as she scored a team second-best 19 points and pulled down a game-high 13 caroms versus Eastern Michigan on Dec. 5.

O'CHRISTMAS 'THREE'
Senior Brigid Mulroy currently owns 94 career 3-point field goals, which is one away from tying Terri Ford (1986-90) and current graduate assistant, Katie Solner (2002-05), for ninth place in Detroit's record books.

LONE SENIOR HONORED
Detroit's lone senior, Brigid Mulroy, came out of the gate raring to go in UDM's opening week as she averaged 20.5 points in the two games. For her efforts, Mulroy was named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Nov. 16 and also earned the Horizon League Network's “The People's Choice” honor (Nov. 19).

MORE MULROY
Mulroy opened the 2009-10 campaign with a team third-best 14-point effort in Detroit's 74-65 win at Oakland on Nov. 13 and, two days later, in UDM's home opener, she shot 8-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-5 from long range, and made all seven attempts at the line to end with a career-high and game-best 27 points versus #10 Michigan State. The eight made field goals matches her career-high and the seven free throws is a new personal best for Detroit's lone senior.

NOT TOO SHABBY
Detroit led by as much as nine against #10 Michigan State on Nov. 15 and the Titans had a one-point advantage at the break (37-36).

DOUBLE OR NOTHING
Sophomore Yar Shayok, whose 2008-09 season was cut short due to an injury, made a huge impact for the Titans against Oakland on Nov. 13 as she collected a double-double with game-highs in both points and rebounds with 26 and 14, respectively.

TALE OF TWO HALVES
The Titans shot 36 percent in the first half against Oakland (Nov. 13) and came back from the break to shoot 61 percent in the second stanza, compared to a 29 percent effort from the Golden Grizzlies.

LAST TIME OUT
The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team dropped a 65-51 decision to Michigan this past Saturday at Calihan Hall. This marked the first time that Detroit head coach Autumn Rademacher faced her former boss, Michigan head coach Kevin Borseth.

Sophomore Lauren Allen led the Titans in points (12) and steals (3), while sophomore Yar Shayok grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

Detroit came right out of the gate and took control of the game as the Titans scored 11 unanswered points in the opening minutes and maintained their lead the entire first half against Michigan. Freshman Kassandra Hooten collected four points during that scoring run and UDM did not allow the Wolverines to net their first basket until the 14:27 mark when sophomore Carmen Reynolds hit a midrange jumper off an assist from freshman Dayeesha Hollins.

Freshman Demeisha Fambro and Allen nailed back-to-back 3-pointers for Detroit to push its lead to double digits again (17-7) with just under 10 minutes left in the half. After senior Brigid Mulroy made one from long range to put the score at 22-14, U-M responded with a 6-0 scoring run to pull within two about six minutes later. Shayok hit a lay-up with just over a minute left to put the score at 28-23, but U-M was able to add on two more points before the break.

Michigan knotted the game at 32 at 16:12 of the second stanza and junior Veronica Hicks followed with a lay-up to give the Wolverines their first lead of the game. Junior Tayler Langham drained one from long range to pull Detroit within one (40-39) with just over 11 minutes left, but that was the closest the Titans would get the remainder of the contest.

Three Wolverines scored in double figures with Hollins leading the way with 17, while Hicks and sophomore Courtney Boylan each adding 11 for U-M. Senior Krista Phillips and freshman Jenny Ryan each grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, while Hollins dished out a game-high seven assists.

HORIZON LEAGUE NETWORK
All of Detroit's home games and every road conference contest for the Titans will be televised on the Horizon League Network this year.

DETROIT INKS TWO
University of Detroit Mercy head women's basketball coach Autumn Rademacher has announced that two student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Titan squad, beginning with the 2010-11 season. The signees are: Megan Hatter (F, 6-0, Howell, MI/Howell) and Senee Shearer (G, 5-7, Detroit, MI/Pershing). Hatter is the sister of current Titan, Heather Hatter.
