DOUBLE OR NOTHING

Shayok shot 11-of-14 from the field, 4-of-5 from the line and 10 of her caroms came on the defensive end.
TALE OF TWO HALVES
The Titans shot 36 percent in the first half against Oakland (Nov. 13) and came back from the break to shoot 61 percent in the second stanza, compared to a 29 percent effort from the Golden Grizzlies.
LAST TIME OUT
It was raining three's in Terre Haute, IN, this past Tuesday night, as there was a combined 21 made treys from Detroit and Indiana State but, despite a new career-high of six made 3-pointers from UDM senior
Brigid Mulroy, the Titans dropped a 70-53 decision in women's basketball action at the Hulman Center.
Mulroy led all scorers with 20 points, which is the third time this season she has scored 20 or more, and Detroit sophomore
Yar Shayok grabbed a game-high 12 boards. Sophomores
Lauren Allen and
Jalesa Jones tied for a game-best five assists, while Allen tallied a new career-high of four steals.
With the Titans down by one at the 13:34 mark of the first half, Detroit responded with a 6-0 scoring run, which was capped off with a lay-up from Shayok off an assist from Allen to give UDM its largest lead of the game at five (14-9). With just under eight minutes remaining, Mulroy netted one from long range, with help from Shayok, to give UDM a 22-20 advantage, but the Sycamores then responded with 10 unanswered points. Jones scored the last five points of the half for Detroit to pull the Titans within three (33-30) at the break.
The Sycamores maintained their lead in the second half, but the Titans did pull within one, twice, with the last happening at 14:30 after Allen hit a jumper to put the score at 40-39. Mulroy netted a trey with just over 10 minutes remaining in the contest to shrink ISU's lead to seven (52-45), but that was the closest Detroit would get the rest of the way.
Detroit shot 33 percent on the night (18-of-55), while the Sycamores had a 24-of-59 showing from the field (41 percent). Rebounds were even at 36 a piece and ISU had a 10-6 advantage in the steals category.
