The Detroit Titans men's basketball team climbed five spots to No. 17 in this week's Mid-Major Top 25, released by Collegeinsider.com on Monday evening.
Detroit received 241 points and is one of four Horizon League teams ranked, behind No. 1 Butler and No. 14 Wright State, while ahead of No. 25 Green Bay
UDM boast a 6-2 record, including a 2-0 mark in league play, after sweeping the opening week of conference action in dominant fashion. The Titans raced past Youngstown State 82-71 and then were ahead by 20 points against Cleveland State before eventually settling for a 69-62 victory in a game they never trailed.
The CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 is in its 11th year of existence. The poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast. Thirty-one head coaches do the weekly balloting.
The Titans return to action tomorrow in a non-conference tilt against Tennessee State. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Calihan Hall.
