Horizon League Tournament Website

The UDM men's basketball team will travel to Cleveland State on Tuesday for the first round of The 2009 Speedway Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship. The pairings for the tournament were announced on by the conference office on Saturday night following the conclusion of the regular season.

The contest will be played at 7:00 p.m. at the Wolstein Center. The Titans (7-22, 2-16 HL) dropped both games to the Vikings (20-10, 12-6 HL) this year, 53-44 at home and 66-49 on the road.

Tickets to the event can be purchased by contacting the Detroit Titans' Athletic Ticketing Department at 313-993-1700. UDM will not have a fan bus to the game

Other first round Horizon League match-ups include fourth-seeded Wright State hosting No. 9 Valparaiso, No. 5 Milwaukee facing No. 8 Loyola and the sixth-seeded Youngstown State Penguins at home to play No. 7 UIC. All first round games are scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. local start.

Butler won the league and will receive a bye through the first two rounds, while also hosting the quarter-finals and semi-finals at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Green Bay claimed the second seed which gives the Phoenix a bye into the semi-finals.
