SERIES RECORD
Detroit owns an 18-16 record in the overall series with UIC and the series is even at nine a piece when playing at Calihan Hall. The Flames scraped by with a 69-66 victory earlier this season on Jan. 5 in the opening weekend of conference play. These two teams split last year as UIC defeated UDM by a score of 66-36 on Feb. 2 in Chicago and the Titans went on to claim a 55-51 victory in Detroit on Feb. 28.
ABOUT UIC
UIC is currently tied for eighth place with Wright State as both own an 8-8 mark in Horizon League play. The Flames own a 14-13 overall mark and are 2-8 when playing on the road. UIC won its last outing by a score of 68-64 to visiting Youngstown State (Feb. 28) and the Flames last win on the road came on the Penguins home court on Jan. 29 (57-42). Junior Jessie Miller averages a team-best 13.3 points per game, while freshman Jasmine Bailey leads the Flames with 6.6 rebounds per contest.

Freshman
Lauren Allen shot 50 percent from the field (8-of-16) to end with a team-high and personal-best 17 points against Wright State on Feb. 28. This marks the sixth time this season in which Allen has scored in double figures.
IN LIKE A LION?
Since becoming a member of the NSC, the Titans own an 18-7 overall record in the first game played in March and UDM is 8-3 when those contests are played in Detroit. Last season Detroit opened up March play with a 47-45 victory over visiting Loyola on the first.
WHERE ARE THE TITANS?

Sandi Brown is fifth in the league in scoring average (12.7 ppg), fifth in rebounding (6.7 rpg), seventh in steals (2.2), third in offensive boards (2.5) and seventh in defensive rebounds (4.1). Junior
Brigid Mulroy is third in 3-pointers made (1.9), while junior
Chanica Hall ranks fourth in assists per game (3.8) and seventh in assist/turnover ratio (1.2). In addition, freshman
Jalesa Jones is eighth in assists per game (2.9).
LAST TIME OUT
In the second sporting event on the campus of Detroit on Feb. 28, UDM's women's basketball team dropped a 63-50 decision to Wright State in a Horizon League match-up at Calihan Hall.
In the opening half, the score was tied four times and the lead changed on six occasions, with the Titans' first lead happening at 10:21 after senior
Sandi Brown hit a midrange jumper to put the score at 8-7.
Junior guard
Chanica Hall made a fastbreak layup with just over four minutes left to give Detroit a two-point advantage (14-12), while freshman
Lauren Allen netted a layup at 2:33, to put the score at 18-17, for Detroit's last lead of the contest. Wright State collected the last two baskets in the closing minutes to go into the break with a 27-22 advantage over the Titans.
Allen, who ended with a team-high and personal-best 17 points, netted the first basket of the second half off an assist from Hall to put the score at 27-24. The Raiders responded with seven unanswered points, four of which came from sophomore Ta-myra Davis. Detroit pulled within seven, twice, with the last coming at 8:36 after Allen made one of her eight field goals of the afternoon (42-35), but that was the closest the Titans would get to the Raiders the rest of the contest.
Brown ended with a team second-best 10 points, while redshirt freshman
Talicia Washington tied for a game-best seven rebounds.
WSU had three players score in double figures with Davis leading the way with a game-high 19, while sophomore Shey Peddy and freshman Maria Bennett added 18 and 10, respectively.
Detroit had a 22-of-56 showing from the field (39 percent), while the Raiders shot 42 percent on the afternoon (25-of-59). WSU won the battle of the boards, 39-33, while steals were fairly even with the Raiders collecting 11 to Detroit's 10.

QUARTER OF A CENTURY PLUS TWO
Senior
Sandi Brown led all scorers and tied her career-high of 27 points at Youngstown State on Feb. 19. This marks the highest single point scoring showing from a Detroit player thus far this year and it is the fourth time this season in which a Titan player has scored 20 or more points.
JT MAKES HER MARK
Freshman
Jaleesa Trussell came off the bench this past Thursday and battled through to end tied for a game second-best 16 points after shooting 6-of-11 from the field. Trussell made all four attempts at the line and also added a personal-best five rebounds. Trussell saw a season-high 24 minutes of action and also contributed one assist and two steals against the Penguins.
SCOREBOARD READS 70 OR MORE
Detroit has scored 70 or more points five times this season and the Titans have won all of those contests. The most recent, outside of UDM's 70-62 win at Youngstown State (Feb. 19), was a 73-50 victory over the Penguins at Calihan Hall on Jan. 24.
IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Senior
Sandi Brown cracked the top 20 in Detroit's record books earlier this season and with her 27 point showing at Youngstown State, Brown catapulted into the 18th slot, surpassing current UDM assistant coach Carrie Banks (893). Brown is now 18th with 926 career points and is just two away from tying Cheryl Day (1988-90) who stands in the 17th spot.

Detroit had four players score in double figures against Milwaukee on Feb. 12 in

ASSISTING OTHERS
Prior to Feb. 6, junior
Chanica Hall had collected seven assists on eight occasions, but Hall set a new career-high against Valparaiso as she dished out a game-high eight helpers.
SEASON-HIGHS
As a team, Detroit set a couple season-highs against Valparaiso on Feb. 6 in rebounds (49) and made free throws (25). The previous season-bests were both set at Loyola on Jan. 3 with 47 rebounds and 22 free throws.
STEALING AWAY
Detroit's 13 steals against YSU on Jan. 24 matches its season-high from UDM's 76-75 double overtime victory at Eastern Michigan (Dec. 20).
OVERTIME AT CALIHAN
Detroit's overtime game against Valparaiso on Jan. 10 marked the first time the Titans played an extra session at Calihan Hall since a 74-73 setback against Milwaukee on Jan. 27, 2005.
ANOTHER FIRST
In her first Horizon League game at the helm of the Detroit Titans women's basketball program, head coach Autumn Rademacher notched a 71-64 win at Loyola on Jan. 3.
DOUBLE OR NOTHING
Two Titans registered double-doubles against Loyola on Jan. 3 in redshirt freshman

Sandi Brown. Washington scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Brown pulled down a game-high 11 caroms and poured in 12 points.
TWO EXTRA SESSIONS
Prior to Detroit's 76-75 double-overtime win at Eastern on Dec. 20, 2008, the last time the Titans played in a double overtime contest was a 107-102 setback to Kentucky on Dec. 28, 1983 in Detroit.
PLENTY OF POINTS
The 76 point showing at Eastern Michigan on Dec. 20 marks the most points the Titans have scored in a single game since a 78-65 victory against Wright State in Detroit on Feb. 19, 2004.
VS. RANKED TEAMS
The Detroit Titans made history on Nov. 22 as UDM defeated #23 Georgia by a score of 70-66 at Calihan Hall. This marked the first time since the conference changed its name to the Horizon League (2001-02) in which the Titans defeated a ranked opponent. UDM now owns a 1-11 mark in this category.
GOING BACK IN TIME
Detroit's win over Southeastern Conference member school, Georgia, was the first win against an SEC school since Nov. 23, 1979 when the Titans defeated Louisiana State by a score of 84-76 in Detroit. Prior to Saturday's victory, the Titans had lost 13 straight to SEC schools.
COACHING DEBUT AT HOME
Autumn Rademacher coached her first game for the Titans on UDM's home court against #23 Georgia and Detroit came out on the winning end, 70-66. Since the start of UDM women's basketball (1977-78), Rademacher and the eight full-time head coaches prior, now own a collective 4-5 record in their coaching debut on Detroit's home court.
DETROIT INKS THREE
UDM head coach Autumn Rademacher announced that three student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Titans, beginning with the 2009-10 season. The signees are: Demeisha Fambro (G, 5-9, Detroit, MI/Crockett Tech), Kassandra Hooten (F, 6-0, Moorhead, MN/Moorhead) and Cherridy Thornton (F, 6-1, Detroit, MI/Frank Cody Senior).
FINAL FOUR IN DETROIT
The University of Detroit Mercy will serve as the host institution for the 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Final Four, which will be held on April 4 & 6, 2009 at Ford Field in Detroit, MI.
