List of Honorees

University of Detroit Mercy freshman Emily Boissonneault (Brooklin, ON/Donald A. Wilson) tacked on another honor as she was named to the womenslacrosse.com All-Rookie Team for her efforts during the 2009 season.

Boissonneault, who was named Attack MVP for the NLC earlier this month, started every game (14) for UDM during its inaugural season and ended with team highs in both goals and points, with 57 in each category. She also closed out the year first among teammates with 27 draw controls and third in groundballs with 36. Boissonneault tallied at least one goal in every game for the Titans and collected two game-winning goals.

"I am extremely happy for Emily on this national recognition," said UDM head women's lacrosse coach Mary Ann Meltzer. "This honor is well-deserved as she worked extremely hard for our program this past season. Emily always came to play and it says a lot that she was named to this all-rookie team after Detroit's first year as a Division I program."

Boissonneault tallied a season-high nine goals in Detroit's 18-9 victory over Presbyterian in the opening round of the National Lacrosse Conference Tournament on May 1. Prior to that showing, Boissonneault’s previous season-high in goals was eight, which also occurred against Presbyterian (Mar. 28).

The Titans finished 2009 with a 5-9 overall record and as the NLC Tournament runner-up.
