The Titan Club held its annual Open House Tuesday evening and had a tremendous turnout as over 250 Titan Club members, their families, prospective Titan Club members and former student-athletes joined together for the festivities at the Pavilion behind Calihan Hall.
"I was very pleased with the turnout for the Titan Club Open House," said UDM Director of Athletics Keri Gaither. "Our goal was to provide a fun-filled family atmosphere where our fans, alums, boosters and their families could enjoy a relaxing evening as a thank you for all they do to support Titan Athletics. We tried a new a new type of format this year and by the number of people in attendance all having a great time, it was huge success."
The evening was filled with several activities and was kicked-off with a tennis clinic, which was led by members of the men and women's tennis team. Once the clinic was over, the BBQ started and those in attendance enjoyed face painting, as well as a variety of games.
The highlight of the event was the dunk tank, which featured several athletic department staff members, along with a few Titan athletic supporters. Those who braved the dunk tank were:
Joe Tofferi (Director of Strength and Conditioning),
Eli Holman (Student-Athlete, Men's Basketball)
Randy Martin (Lieutenant of Public Safety, UDM Public Safety)
Jay Smith (Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball)
Daron Montgomery (Senior Associate A.D.)
“Titan Mike” Hamann (Titan Club Board of Directors, Vice President)
Steve Corder (Assistant A.D. for NCAA Compliance)
Autumn Rademacher (Head Coach, Women's Basketball)
Mike Lupenec (Head Coach, Women's Soccer)
Keri Gaither (Director of Athletics)
The event ended with a performance by Mystery Key underneath the Pavilion, which followed a few remarks from Detroit head men's basketball coach Ray McCallum, as well as Gaither.
