The UDM men’s lacrosse program hosted its first-ever high school team travel camp on Saturday as programs from all over the metro Detroit area were on display at Titan Field.
“This was such a great turnout for our first-ever lacrosse camp,” said assistant Titan coach
Chris Kolon, who organized the event. “The amount of people that came here was great and they all came away saying how they have always heard about the University, but never saw it, and now they had a chance to see the campus in person and they were extremely impressed by the school’s facilities.”
The camp was broken up into two parts, team games and team clinics, with the UDM coaching staff as well as registered officials on hand. The student-athletes were given drills on all facets of the game of lacrosse and put those lessons to work in scrimmages against other clubs and high school teams.
Between the UDM men’s lacrosse and basketball camps held on the weekend, nearly 1,000 high school students, parents, friends and coaches will be on campus, taking in some of what the University of Detroit Mercy has to offer.
The Detroit men’s lacrosse team will host one more camp this summer as the Titans skills camp, open to all high school students, will be held on July 20-22. The cost for attending that event is $150.00 per player, with a free gift provided. For more information on that camp, including registration and waiver forms, please visit the UDM camp link by
