The University of Detroit Mercy Women's Basketball High School Team Camp took place this past weekend at Calihan Hall and was a huge success as 31 teams attended, which brought over 450 participants to Detroit's campus.
"Our team camp provided a weekend of terrific basketball action," said Detroit assistant coach and co-camp director Emily Samuelson. "We had teams from all over the state of Michigan, as well as several teams from Ohio."
The 31 teams each played six games throughout the three days, as well as a single game elimination tournament at the end of the camp. In addition, Detroit head women's basketball coach Autumn Rademacher gave an NCAA eligibility presentation for all of those in attendance on Saturday.
"We felt good about the competition, sportsmanship, and cooperative spirit of the participating teams and their coaches," added Samuelson. "Based on the comments from several of the coaches, parents, and players during the course of camp, we will be seeing many of these teams in the coming years."
