Former Titan
Chris Hayes took one step closer to pursuing his dream of playing professionally as the forward was recently named MVP at the Eurobasket Summer League Chicago camp.
Hayes, who graduated from Detroit in May with a degree in Liberal Studies, led Team London to a 3-0 record during the course of the event. He scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the championship game after posting 19 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks in the semi-finals.
According to USbasket.com, Hayes was viewed as “an outstanding prospect that has all of the intangibles of a 6'8' forward. He plays above the rim and has NBA-like skills, which should land him in a high-level European country soon.”
The ESL is a recruiting network designed to give players exposure to teams and agents to continue their basketball careers. Most of the players at the event were 2009 seniors selected from a certain criteria, but players who have played professionally in the United States and overseas were also on the roster.
