Day 6: Coach McCallum Checks In From Spain

On a travel day in Spain, as the Titans moved on from Barcelona to Valencia, head coach Ray McCallum weighed in with some thoughts on his team and what they've done so far.

“Going into that second game,” he said, “I felt it was going to be a challenge. An hour-and-a-half bus ride to the game and then playing on consecutive nights, I wanted to see how our guys would respond and I think they responded with great effort. In the first two games, when we've gone to our bench, I have felt like we've had an additional spark. The guys coming off the bench have a certain intensity level that is great to see.  We played hard, we played some quality minutes. This is about us. We're coming together as a team and as a family and really defining Titans basketball. That is, playing hard and playing together.

“Up to this point, the experience has been invaluable. The architecture, culture, cathedrals and castles are incredible. I am thankful for the educational experience our guys are receiving and to walk the same streets as Christopher Columbus is truly amazing.

“This has been a wonderful trip so far.”
