The men’s golf fall season began in great fashion Saturday as the Titans broke par over 36 holes and stand third heading into Sunday’s final round of Michigan State’s Spartan Classic.
Playing at the Kingsley Club in Kingsley, MI, the Titans put together rounds of 281 and 285 as they trail only UC-Davis and 24th-ranked California in the 14-team field.
Senior David Byrne led the way for UDM with identical rounds of 66 – one shy of the school record he co-owns – for a 10-under par total of 132. Junior Jeff Clarridge is next in line for Detroit at 68-72-140.
