Mayor Bing Joins Titans Wednesday For Dave DeBusschere Scholarship Dinner & Cruise

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing is scheduled to speak Wednesday night when UDM hosts the 2009 Dave DeBusschere Scholarship Dinner & Cruise aboard the beautiful Ovation yacht.

A limited number of tickets are still available for $125 each, which includes hors d'oeuvres, a strolling dinner, an open bar and dessert stations, in addition to a two-hour cruise along the Detroit River. Boarding in St. Clair Shores begins at 6:00 p.m. The boat leaves dockside at 7 and returns at 9.

In addition to Mayor Bing – a longtime NBA great – former Titan basketball stars Jermaine Jackson and Spencer Haywood will be among the evening's special guests. So too will DeBusschere's two sons, Peter and Dennis, coming in from New York, DeBusschere's four sisters who live in the Detroit area, and others.

"My family and I were honored to attend the first event (held in 2007),” Peter DeBusschere said, “and my brother and I are really looking forward to it this year."

The evening will include a silent auction featuring autographed memorabilia and VIP event tickets. The co-chairs of the #22 Committee heading up the event are Ron Thayer and Mike Bartnicki
