Men's Basketball To Host Second Annual Coaches Clinic

The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball program is set to host its Second Annual Coaches Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 26. The event, opened to both male and female coaches from middle school to AAU to college, will be held on the UDM campus inside Calihan Hall.

The clinic is a great opportunity for all coaches to learn and expand their knowledge of basketball with the help of some of today's best coaches. The day will include on the court demonstrations and teachings by UDM head coach Ray McCallum and members of the Detroit Titans men's basketball team along with special guest speakers in Michigan coach John Beilein, Minnesota head coach Tubby Smith, IUPUI's Ron Hunter, UCLA assistant coach Scott Duncan and Detroit Pistons' assistant coach Pat Sullivan.

Each speaker will focus on a certain aspect of the game as they discuss topics such as team and individual defense, offensive drills and set plays and situations.

The cost of the clinic is $25 per coach during the early registration period, with the cost moving to $35 to register on the day of the clinic. For teams wishing to bring their whole staff, a special $50 per coaching staff discount will be given.
