Titans Continue Billboard Campaign With New Sign At Lodge & Livernois

With plenty of basketball games still left on the home schedule, the Detroit Titans Athletic Department continued its billboard advertising campaign this week. The latest eye-catching signage, directing the public toward Calihan Hall, is displayed prominently in view of motorists at the busy Livernois Ave. exit off the Lodge Freeway.

Earlier this season, the Titans heavily marketed a “Kids Get In Free” campaign which helped produce the largest home crowd of the season to date, for the 2009-10 season-opening doubleheader where the Titan men played Western Michigan while the women hosted Michigan State. For that one, a series of billboards promoting the free ticket offer went up throughout Detroit, including northbound locations on I-75, Woodward Avenue and the Lodge Freeway.

"We want to get more fans in the seats at our men's and women's basketball home games at Calihan Hall, and that starts with continuing to create more and more awareness,” Titans athletic director Keri Gaither said. “Our marketing staff thought the 'NCAA Basketball – This Exit' billboard was a fun way to start out 2010."

The Titans have two men's basketball games at home this weekend, with Valparaiso visiting Calihan Hall on Friday evening (7:05 p.m., televised by ESPNU), and 24th-ranked Butler following on Sunday (1:05 p.m., FOX Sports Detroit).
