DETROIT -- Reigning Horizon League Coach of the Year
Autumn Rademacher and the Titan women's basketball team will have its lone preseason contest of the year on Monday as Detroit welcomes Saginaw Valley State University into Calihan Hall. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
The game will not be on the Horizon League Network, but fans that can't make the contest can follow all the action through live stats by

Detroit will have just one exhibition this season and it will once again be against the Cardinals as the programs hook up for the third year in a row. The Titans cruised to an 85-61 victory last year and an 81-54 triumph in preseason action during the 2008-09 campaign.
The Titans have been practicing for a few weeks as they await the official start of the season. UDM was tabbed to finish third in the Horizon League preseason poll and will have an interesting blend of youth and veterans on the squad, including the return of four starters and nine letterwinners. The group is led by a pair of junior guards and captains in
Jalesa Jones (Detroit, MI/Pershing) and
Lauren Allen (Rochester, MI/Rochester), as well as sophomore forward
Yar Shayok (Ottawa, ON/Hillcrest), the HL Newcomer of the Year and second team All-League selection.
Detroit is coming off a year in which it went 17-14 overall and 14-4 in conference play to tie for second.
Saginaw Valley has already played two preseason contests falling to Eastern Michigan, 84-60, and No. 25 Michigan State, 90-40. Last year, SVSU finished with a 7-20 record, but they do return their leading scorer in Brittany Burkhardt, who tallied 11.7 points per game last season, as well as its top rebounder in Grace Herzog (6.8 rpg.).
The official season opener will be this Friday at home as the red, white and blue entertain in-state rival Oakland, with tip-off slated for 7:00 p.m.
