ON TAP
The Titans are gunning for their first road win this season after dropping a tight 71-69 decision at Western Michigan Wednesday.  Detroit is in the midst of a four-game roadswing that will see stops at Western, Eastern and Central Michigan and Bradley before the Christmas break.  UDM will return home Dec. 30 to re-open League play by welcoming Green Bay to Calihan Hall.

ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN
The Eagles are 1-7 on the season heading into Saturday's tilt and have dropped six in a row.  EMU's lone win came against NAIA Madonna University, 79-70, back on Nov. 17 at the Convocation Center.  Four of the Eagles' losses have come by six points or less, including a 58-54 setback to Drake at home Wednesday.  Brandon Bowdry has led them in scoring in seven of eight contests this season and averages a team-best 20.5 points per night.

EAGLES HAVE LANDED
Detroit dominates the all-time series with Eastern Michigan, winning 57 of the 72 meetings in the 101-year history between the schools.  The Titans have rattled-off eight straight wins in the series to take the commanding lead.  The 57 wins represent the most wins over any school in the Detroit annals.

UNFAZED ON THE ROAD
Junior Nick Minnerath leads the Titans in free-throw percentage, hitting 31-of-38 freebies so far this season (.816).  On the road, Minnerath has missed just twice, going 11-of-13 for an .846 clip.

ON (TOP OF) THE HORIZON
Eli Holman leads the Horizon League in both offensive (4.4 rpg) and defensive (7.4 rpg) rebounds per game in the early going.  He is also second in field goal percentage, connecting on 62.8 percent of his shots (54-of-86) and is sixth in blocks (1.3 bpg) and ninth in scoring (14.0 ppg).

AMONG THE NATION'S BEST, TOO...
The second NCAA Division I national rankings were released Monday and Holman's name appears in three different categories.  Coming into the week, his six double-double are third-most in the country and he is 9th in rebounds per game (11.6) and 13th in field goal percentage (.642).

CHASE-ING THE LEADERS
Junior Chase Simon poured-in 18 points Wednesday at Western Michigan and is now tied for the team-lead with a 14.1 points-per-game average.  That is just slightly better than his average from last season (14.0) when he also led the team in scoring.

LOWE-DOWN on LOWE
Junior LaMarcus Lowe was impressive in his return to University Arena at Western Michigan Wednesday.  Lowe, who spent his freshman season as a Bronco (2008-09), played a season-high 31 minutes and tied a career-high with a dozen points.  He also grabbed seven rebounds and had three blocked shots coming off-the-bench for the Titans.  After averaging 10.2 minutes per contest through the first five games, Lowe has earned more playing time and has logged an average of 18.0 minutes over the last five games.

RAY Mc AGAINST THE MAC
Freshman Ray McCallum went 4-for-5 from the three-point line Wednesday at Western Michigan, marking a career high for triples in a game.  His threes have come in bunches this year as his previous best was a 3-for-6 effort in a win over Bowling Green (11/27/10).  Against Mid-American Conference schools (Akron, Bowling Green, Western Michigan), McCallum is 7-for-13 (.538) from the long line.
