BracketBusters Will Bring Eastern Michigan To Calihan Hall

The last missing piece on the Detroit men's basketball schedule was filled in today when it was announced that the Titans will host Eastern Michigan at Calihan Hall on Feb. 20 as part of the annual ESPNU BracketBusters.

Game time will be set for 3:35 p.m. The game will webcast live on the Horizon League Network. As part of the arrangement, Detroit will return the game by playing at Eastern Michigan next season.

A member of the Mid-American Conference, Eastern is one of Detroit's oldest rivals. The two teams first met during the 1909-10 season, and the Titans hold a 56-15 all-time series record. EMU is 10-10 on the current season, its best start since 2002-03, heading into Monday night's contest at Akron. Junior forward Brandon Bowdry paces the Eagles in scoring with a 16.5 average, and also leads the way in rebounding with an even 10.0 caroms per contest.

Behind newly-crowned Horizon League Player of the Week Chase Simon, the Titans have won two straight games to run their record to 14-8 on the season. They are on the road for two games this weekend, beginning Thursday at 15th-ranked Butler on Thursday night. The game will be televised live on FOX Sports Detroit at 7:00 p.m.

The eighth annual ESPNU BracketBusters event, a two-day men's college basketball extravaganza, features 11 nationally-televised games – on either ESPN2 or ESPNU – selected from a pool of 98 teams on Feb. 19-20. The 76 teams not selected for a TV game will compete against each other over those same two days.

The field features teams from 14 different conferences, including all 10 members of the Horizon League. Click here to visit the official BracketBusters web site.
