A break from Horizon League play is up next for the Titan men's basketball team as Detroit sees an old rival make its way to Calihan Hall in the Eastern Michigan Eagles for an ESPNU BracketBusters contest. Game time is set for 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, in what will also be Senior Day for the team.

Prior to the start of the game, UDM will honor six seniors who have made enormous contributions to the program in student manager Vince Carr, graduate manager Mike Faletti and student-athletes Eugene Blue, Thomas Kennedy, Woody Payne and Eulis Stephens.

The Titans (15-13, 7-9 HL) will look to break a three-game losing streak and get on track for the final week of Horizon League play. UDM can still finish with a fifth seed in the upcoming conference tournament and can't finish any lower then a seven seed. Detroit will also look to remain undefeated against the Mid-American Conference with wins this season over Western Michigan, Bowling Green and Central Michigan, all in Calihan Hall.

EMU (14-12, 6-7 MAC) has won two in a row as it makes the short trip to the Motor City. Brandon Bowdry leads the team in scoring (16.6) and rebounding (9.9). Carlos Medlock is second on the team at 15.4 ppg., while handing out 3.6 assists per contest, and Justin Dobbins is averaging 11.8 ppg.

The Horizon League Network will have the action live for fans not able to make it to the contest. CSTV's gametracker will also have a live stats feed of the game. Both links are located on top of the page.

DETROIT VS. EASTERN MICHIGAN
To say that Detroit has enjoyed the best of this series might be an understatement. The Titans are 56-15 all-time against Eastern Michigan, and have won seven in a row and eight of the last nine.

Last season, Detroit used a 32-12 second half run to down EMU, 62-47, giving head coach Ray McCallum his first win as a Titan.

The Titan-Eagle rivalry is one of the longest in school history with its first game originating in 1910. Saturday's game will be the 72nd contest between the two schools, located just 38 miles from each other. The series ranks fourth among all-time opponents in UDM annals.

BRACKETBUSTER ACTION
This year's BracketBusters weekend marks the eighth straight year that Detroit will participate in the event. Detroit is 4-3 all-time in BracketBuster games and 1-2 at home.

As part of the BracketBusters agreement, all home teams will play a “return” game at the home facility of their opponent in November or December of the following season.
