2010-11 Season To Feature Titans Hosting Legends Classic Subregional

Legends Classic Release

An early piece of the schedule for next season was announced today as the Detroit Titans men's basketball team will host a subregional of the Legends Classic, unveiled by the Gazelle Group.

Along with the Titans, Albany, Bowling Green, Gardner Webb, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Mercer, Niagara, Syracuse, Western Carolina, William & Mary and UTEP will participate in the early season tournament, although no match-ups have been determined yet.

Georgia Tech, Michigan, Syracuse and UTEP will serve as the four Regional Round hosts with all four schools automatically advancing to the Championship Rounds at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on November 26-27.

Detroit and William & Mary will host the Subregional Rounds on Thanksgiving Weekend with each subregional featuring a four-team field with two games played each day. The eight teams that comprise the subregional will also play one game against one of the regional hosts.

Last season, UDM took part in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, also run by the Gazelle Group, and won all three games in the subregional defeating Albany, Alcorn State and Robert Morris, while falling in its regional round contest at California.
