Mulroy Selected to Compete in the 22nd Annual State Farm Slam Dunk and Three Point Championships

Even though basketball season has come to a close for the Detroit Titans women's squad, senior Brigid Mulroy (West Bloomfield, MI/Marian) is not done yet on the court as she is one of eight women selected to compete in the 22nd Annual State Farm Slam Dunk and Three Point Championships. The event takes place on April 1 in Indianapolis, the site of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Final Four.

The men's 3-point competition starts things off at 7 p.m. at the Indiana Convention Center and then Mulroy and the other seven women will take to the court, which is followed by the Slam Dunk Competition. The event will be shown on a tape delay on ESPN at 9 p.m. the same day.

Mulroy, who was a walk-on her first two years with the Titans, was ranked top 5 in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage all season long, except for one week, and currently sits sixth all-time in Detroit's record books with 160 career 3-pointers.

She scored 20 or more points seven times this season and led or tied for the lead among teammates in scoring on 13 occasions. Mulroy netted a career-high 27 points against nationally-ranked Michigan State and she also poured in a personal-best of six treys in a single game three times during the year. For her efforts during the season, Mulroy garnered all-conference first team honors.

Mulroy becomes the first-ever Detroit basketball player, men's or women's, to be selected to participate in ESPN's Annual College 3-Point Championship.
