Detroit Back In Action With Home Contest On Monday

Live Stats

After coming back from the Big Apple with a near victory in their MAAC opener, the Titans will step out of conference play on Monday as Detroit hosts Presbyterian at 3:00 p.m. on Titan Field.

The Titans and Blue Hose hooked up last year in a barn burner as UDM led 12-11 heading into the fourth quarter on the road, but a comeback by the home team gave Presbyterian a 15-12 win. Junior Matt Gregson had four goals and three assists for seven points, a record that still stands as the most points in a single game in the young history of UDM lacrosse. Current Titan sophomore John Nowicki also added a pair of goals in the game.

UDM's offense is still led by freshman Joel Matthews' 24 points and 19 goals. As a team, 12 Titans have tallied goals on the year, with Gregson and sophomore Scott Harris next in line with five markers apiece.

Presbyterian comes into the contest at 1-5 on the season, with its lone victory an 8-6 triumph over Providence at home. The Blue Hose are averaging 6.3 goals per game and giving up 11.3 per contest. Tyler Melnyk tops the team in goals (10) and points (14), while Billy Schilling and Dave Spadacene are the squad's top defenseman with 16 groundballs on the year. James Cupo will be the main face-off man having won 42 of his 80 attempts on the year, scooping up 23 groundballs in the process.

As with all home games, tickets for Titan lacrosse start at $5 per adults and $3 for children 13 and younger and senior citizens (60 and older). Group tickets are also available for $3 per ticket for groups of 15 or more. If you can't make it to the game, you can follow the contest with live stats by clicking here.
