With David Byrne and Britt Pronk sitting in the Top 10 individually after 36 holes, the Titans find themselves in a three-way tie for first place as a team after Day One at the BSU Cardinal Classic.
The men's golf tournament, hosted by Ball State, is being played at Sultan's Run Golf Club in Jasper, IN.
Detroit (295-301-596) held a one-shot lead over Eastern Kentucky (296-300) after the first round, played on a cold and windy Saturday morning. Those two teams now share the overnight lead with Bowling Green (303-293).
The three schools will be paired for Sunday's final round, weather permitting, as storms are expected to hit southern Indiana overnight and on Sunday morning.
Byrne (Essex, ON/Essex) is in a tie for third place after posting rounds of 71 and 74 for a 145 total. Pronk (London, ON/St. Thomas Aquinas) is one shot behind his teammate, and stands tied for seventh, with a 74-72-146 card.
