Holman, Payne Among NCAA Leaders

Titan senior Woody Payne (Inkster, MI/Ypsilanti) and sophomore Eli Holman (Richmond, CA/Richmond) helped lead the way for the greatest turnaround in school history as the pair finished in the top 50 in the nation in three categories.

Payne garnered the only top 20 listing ending his collegiate career 19th in steals with 2.2 per game.

Holman's 2.5 blocks per game was 22nd in the country, while his 8.9 rebounds per contest had him 48th in Division I.

As a team, Detroit was 52nd in rebounding margin (4.0), 55th in field goal percentage (45.9) and 56th holding opponents 31.7 percent from behind the arc.

In HL action, the Titans were in the top three in a bevy of rankings, including leading the league in field goal percentage defense, three-point field goal percentage defense (41.4), rebounding margin and blocks (3.9). UDM was also second in field goal percentage (45.9), assists (13.6) and steals (7.5) and third in scoring offense (69.4) and scoring defense (65.7).

Detroit had a pair of players top the league in four statistics. Holman led the conference in blocks, rebounding and field goal percentage (61.4). Payne was atop the assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.0, while placing second in steals and fifth in assists per game (4.1).
