The Titan Club held its annual Open House on Wednesday evening and had a tremendous turnout as over 250 Titan Club members and prospective members, their families, Athletic Department staff and former student-athletes joined together for the festivities at The Pavilion, located behind Calihan Hall.

The evening featured inflatables and games for fans of all ages, and a veritable feast provided by some of the Titans' corporate sponsors – Buddy's Restaurant and Pizzeria, Buffalo Wild Wings, Champps-West Bloomfield, Dino's, Gregg's Pizza,  National Coney Island, Sodexo and Qdoba Mexican Grill. No one went home hungry!

There were plenty of cold beverages on hand, too, and Titan Club members Justin Remington, Jack Szczepaniuk – a former UDM cross country/track and field standout – and Kyle Thelen served as guest bartenders.

"I was very pleased with the turnout for the Titan Club Open House," said Athletic Director Keri Gaither who briefly addressed the group during the evening. "Our goal was to provide a fun-filled family atmosphere where our fans, alums, boosters and their families could enjoy a relaxing evening as a thank you for all they do to support Titan Athletics. Judging by the number of people in attendance and all of them having a great time, it was huge success."

Gaither enthusiastically addressed the gathering midway through the evening. Fans also heard from UDM Executive Vice President Michael Joseph; Assistant Athletic Director Steve Corder on the subject of being compliant with NCAA rules; and former Detroit basketball guard Bernie Fuhs, now a member of the Titan Club Board.

Indeed, a great time was had by all, so be sure to put the Titan Club Open House on your family's calendar for 2011!
