Titan Coaches Receive High Marks In NCAA Academic Report

Head Coaches APR Portfolio web site

The NCAA today released a new public database of single-year Academic Progress Rates for head coaches in six sports and, as in the previous public releases of APR data, UDM came through with flying colors, exceeding minimums across the board.

The sports involved this year are baseball, football, men's and women's basketball and women's indoor and outdoor track and field. Single-year APRs for all Division I head coaches will be included in the database next year.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.

Created by the Committee on Academic Performance at the direction of the Division I Board of Directors, the head coach APR database is designed to create more transparency in the Academic Performance Program and make coaches more accountable for the academic performance of their student-athletes. The Head Coach APR Portfolio does not assess additional penalties for a team or coach.
