The Detroit men's basketball team put the finishing touches on its 2010-11 schedule with the addition of another postseason team from a year ago in Mississippi State.

The agreement is for a home and home series with the Titans playing in Starkville, MS, on Monday, Nov. 22, and the Bulldogs visiting Calihan Hall on a date in December during the 2011-12 season.

“We are excited to play a high caliber team like Mississippi State,” said head coach Ray McCallum. “Mississippi State is a good program and is always one of the top teams in the SEC.”

An NIT team last year, MSU ended the season at 24-12, its fourth-straight year with 20 or more victories. In the last 12 years, Mississippi State has reached the postseason 10 times, including six NCAA tournament appearances.

“I tell our guys and our fans that we want the best for this program and when you look at who we are playing this year, it's a very challenging schedule,” said McCallum. “I want to thank coach Stansbury for giving us not only the opportunity to play this year, but next year as well right here in Detroit.”

The Titans' 2010-11 schedule now includes six teams that made the postseason a year ago, including three that advanced to the NCAA tournament in Butler, New Mexico and Syracuse. Mississippi State was in the NIT, while Akron and Green Bay received bids to the College Basketball Invitational. Detroit will also host a subregional of the Legends Classic with Albany, Bowling Green and Niagara taking part in the event on Thanksgiving Weekend.

UDM will appear on the ESPN Family of Networks at least five times during the year, including a showdown at Butler on ESPN2 in February. In the near future, the Titans will release their FOX Sports Detroit television package with at least four games on the regional outlet.
