DETROIT -- Returning to the Motor City for just its seventh home game of the season, the Detroit women's basketball team will welcome a familiar face into Calihan Hall in the Loyola Ramblers on Thursday. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
The game is part of the nationwide Jesuit Basketball Spotlight project, using Jesuit basketball to raise awareness of Jesuit education. The Jesuit Basketball Spotlight project highlights more than 90 games this season between men's and women's teams from the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities across the United States. The Titans are coming off a 66-57 victory over Youngstown State, which broke a three-game slide. Sophomore
Yar Shayok led the way with her third-straight double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The win improved Detroit to 9-9 on the year and 3-4 in the Horizon League.
Loyola (8-10, 2-5 HL) makes its way to Detroit looking to break a four game losing streak. The Ramblers are led by Monica Albano, who is fourth in the Horizon League in scoring at 16.1 ppg. Ellen Ayoub tops the team in rebounding at 5.6 per night to go with 11.1 ppg., while Lindsey Sebetic and Katie Kortekamp run the offense with 3.2 assists per game.
DETROIT VS. LOYOLA
The Titans have won seven in a row against its Jesuit rival and eight of the last nine meetings to run their career record to 43-19 all-time versus the Ramblers.
The seven-game winning streak in the series is tied for the second longest between the two school's trailing only the 14 in a row UDM put together from 1991 to 1997.
Detroit is 23-5 at home in the series, including winning the last five in the Motor City.

LONGEST RIVALRY IN SCHOOL HISTORY
This will be the 63rd meeting between the two Jesuit schools, the longest in Titan history. The programs first met on Jan. 8, 1983 in Chicago as Loyola took a 67-54 win.
THE START OF 3 AGAIN?
The Titans and Ramblers have met each other three times in the last two seasons, with Detroit eliminating Loyola in the conference tournament in back-to-back years.
GOOD NUMBERS VS. LOYOLA
Four Titans have really turned it in against Loyola, led by sophomore
Yar Shayok. In three games against the Ramblers, she is averaging 11.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game. She has at least nine rebounds in all three games, including a double-double with 16 points and a career-high 17 boards at Loyola last season.
Junior
Jalesa Jones is averaging 7.8 ppg., 3.0 apg., and 3.0 rpg., in six career meetings, which includes a 20-point, six-rebound, six-assist effort in last year's HL tournament victory.
Junior
Lauren Allen is tallying 9.0 ppg., and 4.8 apg. She has three double-digit scoring games in six meetings, with two coming last year, as well as recording five or most assists in for career contests.
Senior
Tayler Langham played in two games last year versus the Ramblers netting 10. ppg., and 3.0 rpg. In 19 minutes of action in the HL tournament game last season, she came off the bench to net 12 points.
MAKE IT A DOUBLE
Sophomore
Yar Shayok collected a double-double for the third-straight game - and the fourth time in her last five games - with 17 points and 13 rebounds at Youngstown State.
Shayok now has six double-doubles on the year, four in conference play, and 16 in her career. The six double-doubles are tied for the third most in the Horizon League.
SHAYOK NOW 30TH IN REBOUNDING
After a pair of double-doubles over the weekend, which included a season-high 15 rebounds at Cleveland State, sophomore
Yar Shayok is now 30th in the nation in rebounding according to the latest NCAA statistics.
The Horizon League leader in rebounding, Shayok is averaging 9.9 per game with 10 double-digit rebounding games on the year.
Also in the rankings is junior
Lauren Allen, who is 95th with a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
As a team, Detroit is 48th in the country averaging just 15.7 turnovers per game.
TITANS STRONG AT HOME
The Titans are 5-1 at home on the year, their best start since they won all 13 at home during the 1986-87 campaign.
UDM has posted a 14-2 record at home in its last 16 games, with its only two setbacks to Butler, and a 22-13 ledger since head coach Autumn Rademacher returned to her alma mater in 2008.
In 33 years of play in the Motor City, the Titans have enjoyed a 250-135 (.646) home court record. Last season, UDM went 10-6 at home, including 8-1 in conference play.
Away from Calihan, Detroit has posted a 243-330 all-time record.
