INDIANAPOLIS -- Sophomore forward Yar Shayok (Ottawa, ON/Hillcrest) has her name among the top rebounders in the country according to the latest statistics released by the NCAA.

Shayok's 9.4 rebounds per game is currently second in the Horizon League and 49th in the country. She has six games this year where she has pulled down double-digit rebounds, including a season-high 14 at Michigan and 13 apiece against Western Michigan and Saint Joseph's.

Also in the latest statistics, as a team Detroit is 84th in the Division I ranks with just 16.8 turnovers per game.

On Tuesday, the NCAA also released its first RPI rankings of the season and Detroit was listed at No. 65th, the second highest in the Horizon League behind only Green Bay at No. 25. Detroit has recorded some big wins against a tough schedule that has seen them face six teams in the top 50 in the RPI in Michigan (14), Michigan State (18), Saint Joseph's (24), Green Bay (25), Tulane (32) and Bowling Green (46).
