DETROIT -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's lacrosse team held its annual 7v7 high school lacrosse tournament over the weekend and it was another highly-successful event.
“We had a lot of good players on campus as well as their parents, family and friends,” said head men's lacrosse coach Matt Holtz. “To get these kids here to see what Detroit offers is always great, and the games themselves were very exciting and entertaining.”
Over 15 teams with an average of 15 players made their way to Titan Field, with games played on both the varsity field and the grass auxiliary playing field next to the Titan Tennis Complex. Each team was guaranteed four games on the same facilities that the Titans' Division I program plays and practices on. With games going on at the same time, the crowd was buzzing with lacrosse fever.
“The weather just made for a great day of lacrosse,” said Holtz. “To get the weather we had in October just added to the positive setting and energy that the event provided.”
The Detroit men's lacrosse team would like to thank all the schools and players that participated and for everyone to look out for future camps and clinics as well as all the latest news on the Titans.
