DETROIT -- Off her outstanding collegiate debut, freshman
Shareta Brown (Grand Blanc, MI/Grand Blanc) was named the Horizon League Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.com.
Brown posted a double-double at Indiana State Friday evening tallying a game-high 25 points and a game-best 13 rebounds. She was also 9-of-17 from the field and 7-of-10 from the free throw line. She helped orchestrate the second-half comeback attempt finishing the second stanza with 15 points and nine boards.
It was the first double-double in a season opener by a Titan since teammate
Yar Shayok had 26 points and 14 rebounds as a redshirt freshman at Oakland in 2009. It was also the first double-double by a true Titan freshman since Detroit Hall-Of-Famer Cassandra Pack had 23 points and 16 rebounds against Bowling Green on Nov. 25, 1983.
