DETROIT -- Detroit's three-game homestand comes to an end on Tuesday as the Titans will look to make it two in a row when in-state rival Eastern Michigan visits Calihan Hall. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
Detroit is coming off a big win over IPFW on Sunday, as the Titans raced past the Mastodons, 90-60. UDM had 31 fast-break points in the contest that saw four Titans in double figures, led by sophomore
Senee Shearer's career-high 23. Sophomore
Megan Hatter also had a career game with 16 points, while senior
Lauren Allen tallied a season-best 16 and junior
Demeisha Fambro netted 13.
The 90 points were the most by Detroit since posting 90 in a winning effort at Milwaukee last season and the most UDM has scored at home since a 94-67 victory against Cleveland State on Jan. 12, 2002. It was also the biggest win for the Titans over a Division I team since Jan. 28, 2010, when the red, white and blue recorded a 36-point victory over Youngstown State, 80-44. Last season, the Titans rolled over NAIA Marygrove, 68-27.
Eastern Michigan is 6-3 on the season with a pair of overtime losses (at Michigan State, 60-59, and home to Missouri-Kansas City, 70-68). The Eagles are coming off a 77-64 victory over Michigan at home on Dec. 11.
The Eagles are led by senior Tavelyn James, one of the top offensive players in the country. She currently ranks second in the nation in scoring at 25.1 points per game and 12th in three-point field goals per game at 3.1. Paige Redditt is second on the team in scoring at 9.4 ppg., while averaging a team-best 9.6 rebounds.

TITANS VS. EAGLES
Detroit owns a 12-8 lead in the overall series, which dates back to the 1978-79 season, the second year of Titan basketball.
After taking the first nine meetings against Eastern Michigan, the Titans have dropped eight of the last 12 contests. With that said, the red, white and blue have won two of the last three years with head coach Autumn Rademacher at the helm, including a come-from-behind 62-60 victory at EMU last season.
UDM is 6-4 at home in the series, but the Eagles have won the last two in the Motor City. The last Titan win in Calihan Hall was on Dec. 30, 2000, a 90-76 triumph.
ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN
Eastern Michigan is 6-3 on the season with a pair of overtime losses (at Michigan State, 60-59, and home to Missouri-Kansas City, 70-68).
The Eagles are coming off a 77-64 victory over Michigan at home on Dec. 11. EMU has played two other HL teams on the road suffering an 84-53 setback to Green Bay, while defeating Loyola, 63-55.
The Eagles are led by senior Tavelyn James, one of the top offensive players in the country. She currently ranks second in the nation in scoring at 25.1 points per game. Paige Redditt is second on the team in scoring at 9.4 ppg., while averaging a team-best 9.6 rebounds.
The Eagles posted a 24-13 record last season, advancing to the third round of the postseason WNIT. Eastern Michigan was also picked to finish third in the Mid-American Conference West Division, while James garnered preseason All-MAC accolades.
LAST TIME VS. EMU
The Detroit women's basketball team put together a 17-3 run in the final six minutes to complete a great comeback, 62-60, on the road over Eastern Michigan last season.
Lauren Allen led the way with 14 points and a team-best six assists, while
Dominique Dixon netted 13 and
Demeisha Fambro added 12.
Detroit was down by a dozen, 57-45, with 6:05 remaining when the Titans turned up the heat on Eastern Michigan, outscoring the Eagles 17-3 down the stretch, while forcing five turnovers.
The Titans were behind 60-56 with 2:40 left when Allen hit a trey. Dixon then gave UDM the lead with a basket at the 1:25 mark.
Both teams would not score until a
Jalesa Jones free throw with four seconds remaining, which came after the Titans corralled two offensive rebounds in the last 30 seconds.
The Eagles had one last opportunity to tie or take the lead, but Cassie Schrock's shot was too strong giving Detroit the triumph.
A FEW TITANS OVER ON THE EMU BENCH
The Eagles have a pair of coaches with ties to the Titan basketball program. Assistant coach LaTonya Tate had two stints as an assistant with Detroit from 1995-97 and 2004-07. In her first tour with UDM, Tate coached a team that was led by Titan head coach and then star-guard Autumn Rademacher to a conference championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 1997.
Meanwhile, assistant coach Yvette Harris was a three-year letterwinner at Detroit from 1977-80. She was an original member of the Titans' inaugural season in 1977 and was part of two 20-win teams in 1978 (27-4) and 1979 (25-8). She ranks third in school history with 136 blocks, while her eight swats against Owens Tech on Feb. 13, 1978, still ranks as the best single season mark in Titan annals.
AGAINST THE MAC
The Titans are 71-61 all-time against current teams from the Mid-American Conference.
Since head coach Autumn Rademacher took over the reins as the Titan leader in 2008, Detroit is 5-5 against the league – and 4-2 in its last six games - with a pair of victories over Eastern Michigan and Ball State, along with a victory over Western Michigan.
LOOKING FOR CAREER WIN NO. 100 VS. THE GREAT LAKES STATE
The Titans will be looking for their 100th win against programs from the state of Michigan.
Overall, UDM is 99-63 against its' stately foes, and 5-4 in its last eight games against in-state rivals, with the only losses coming to Michigan and Michigan State.
EN FUEGO
Sophomore
Senee Shearer has been a scoring machine in the last two games, coming up with back-to-back career highs with 15 against Michigan and 23 versus IPFW. Prior to those two-straight games in double figures, Shearer's only career double-digit game was a 13-point effort at IPFW last season, while her season high was seven at UTSA.
In the last two games, Shearer is 15-for-26 (57.7%) from the field and 8-of-18 (44.4%) from three-point range, while averaging 19.0 points per game.
Prior to that, Shearer was 7-of-33 (21.2%) on the season and 0-of-14 from three, while through her first 35 collegiate games, she was just 26-of-114 (22.8%) from the field and 6-of-56 (10.7%) from behind the arc.
GETTING OFFENSIVE
The Titans tallied a season-best 90 points against IPFW, shooting a school record 65.5% in the process. UDM connected on 38-of-58 shots, including 22-of-29 (75%) in the second half.
The 90 points (53 in the second half) were the most by Detroit since posting 90 in a winning effort at Milwaukee last season and the most UDM has scored at home since a 94-67 victory against Cleveland State on Jan. 12, 2002.
It is also the second most by a Horizon League team this season following Youngstown State's 91 it had against IPFW.
BIG TIME WIN
The 30-point margin of victory (90-60) also marked the biggest win for the Titans over a Division I team since Jan. 28, 2010, when the red, white and blue recorded a 36-point victory over Youngstown State, 80-44.
Last season, the Titans rolled over NAIA Marygrove, 68-27.
UPON FURTHER REVIEW IT'S A NEW SCHOOL RECORD
Detroit posted a field goal percentage above 60% for the second time this season, but the latest was a school record for the red, white and blue. The Titans shot 65.5% (38-of-58) against IPFW, establishing a new school record over the previous mark of 62.0% (31-of-50) that UDM had against Western Michigan on Dec. 30, 1997.
The 65.5% is also the top mark in the Horizon League this season ahead of UDM's 61.8% it shot at Ball State.
HAVE TO GO BACK TO 1986
Detroit hit 38-of-58 from the field against IPFW in the 90-60 win. The 38 field goals were the most UDM knocked in since Dec. 2, 1986, when Detroit tallied a school record 50 in a 115-45 victory over Wayne State.
The Titans now have the top two spots in the league in made field goals with their 38 against the Mastodons and 34 at Ball State on Dec. 1.
THE MAD HATTER
Sophomore
Megan Hatter has seen all of her offensive numbers rise from her freshman year and she is coming off her best collegiate game ending with a career-high 16 points. Hatter was a career-best 7-of-9 shooting, including a 3-pointer, and had two steals and two blocks.
Hatter has now scored in seven straight games after being held scoreless in her first three games. Her 15 field goals and five 3-pointers are more than she had a year ago (5 and 3, respectively) and she has also doubles her assist total to eight and has 29 rebounds, up from 20 as a rookie.
On the year, Hatter is averaging 3.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
