DETROIT -- The Detroit women's basketball team will open “rivalry” week against a pair of in-state opponents and Big Ten schools as the Titans make a trip to East Lansing to face Michigan State on Tuesday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m., at the Breslin Center.

Along with the Spartans, Detroit will host Michigan on Thursday on the newly-dedicated Dick Vitale Court in Calihan Hall. The game against MSU is also the first or four against in-state rivals in the month of December for UDM with a home match-up against Eastern Michigan and a road trip to Western Michigan also on the docket.

Fans can follow all the action for free with a live stats feed through CBS Sports Gametracker. A live web stream of the event can be seen with a paid subscription on the Big Ten Digital Network. Followers of the Titans on twitter will also get updates throughout the game.

UDM is coming off its first win of the season at Ball State last Thursday as the Titan offense was simply outstanding. Detroit scored a season-high 87 points, shot 61.8% for the game – and 75% in the second half – and handed out a season-high 25 assists in the 19-point victory.

The Titans had four players in double figures, led by 21 apiece from junior Demeisha Fambro and freshman Shareta Brown. Brown also had nine rebounds and a season-best five assists propelling her to Horizon League Player of the Week honors.

TITANS VS. SPARTANS
The Titans are looking to end a long losing streak to Michigan State as the Spartans have won 12 in a row and 14 of the last 15 games. MSU leads the overall series, 17-7.

The last time UDM beat its' in-state rival was on Dec. 20, 1994, in San Juan, with Detroit coming up with a 75-70 victory.
Detroit is also 1-12 – and also on a 12-game losing streak – on the road in the series with the one triumph coming in the Titans' inaugural season (Feb. 6, 1979) when the red, white and blue earned a 61-60 win.

ABOUT MICHIGAN STATE
Michigan State comes into the game at 6-3 – including 4-1 at home - after a thrilling come-from-behind 60-59 overtime victory against Eastern Michigan. MSU down by 14 in the second half, but would fight back to force the extra session and eventually earn the win.

The Spartans lost three seniors to graduation, but was still tabbed to finish third in the Big Ten by the media in the league's preseason poll. MSU also started the year ranked 25th in the ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll, while receiving votes in the Associated Press poll.

Porsche Poole leads the Spartans in scoring at 13.2 points per game and also tops the team in assists at 3.7 per contest. Lykendra Johnson – a preseason All-Big Ten selection as well as the conference's reigning Defensive Player of the Year – leads the team in rebounding at 9.8 rpg., and is second on the team in scoring at 9.4 ppg., while Becca Mills is tallying 9.0 points and 7.2 rebounds.

TITANS VS. THE BIG TEN
The Titans are 32-37 all-time against the Big Ten, but are coming off a win defeating Michigan on the road last year, 67-48.

COACH REMEMBERS THE LAST WIN OVER MICHIGAN STATE
Since head coach Autumn Rademacher came back to her alma mater, Detroit is 1-4 against the Big Ten conference falling to Michigan State three times.

But coach certainly remembers the last win UDM had over Michigan State on Dec. 20, 1994. Rademacher, a sophomore at the time, and teammate Jeanie Hill each netted 20 points and Faith Cyr grabbed 11 rebounds as Detroit downed Michigan State, 75-70, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

TRAVERSE CITY LEGENDS ON THE SIDELINES
The contest will feature two great players turned coaches that hail from Traverse City.

Both Titan head coach Autumn Rademacher and Michigan State's Suzy Merchant were prep stars and All-State performers at Traverse City High School before embarking on their collegiate careers.

LOOKING FOR CAREER WIN NO. 100 VS. THE GREAT LAKES STATE
The Titans will be looking for their 100th win against programs from the state of Michigan.

Overall, UDM is 99-61 against its' stately foes, and 5-1 in its last six games against in-state rivals, with the only blemish to MSU last season.

OFFENSE COMING ALIVE
The Titans are coming off their best offensive game of the season where they scored 87 points in a road victory at Ball State. In doing so, the Titans put up a bunch of impressive numbers.

- The Titans' 87 points were the most since they netted 90 last season in a 90-76 win at Milwaukee. The 48 second-half points were also the most by the Titans this season.

- The 25 assists were the most since they had 25 in a 76-75 double overtime triumph at Eastern Michigan in 2008.

- Detroit shot 61.8% (34-of-55), the highest shooting percentage since UDM hit 62% (31-of-60) against Western Michigan on Dec. 30, 1997. The 34 field goals were also the most since netting 30 against Youngstown State on Feb. 27, 2010.

- Along with the 61.8% shooting, the Titans were an amazing 75% in the second period, connecting on 21-of-28 from the field.

GOOD NUMBERS AGAINST MSU
Demeisha Fambro and Yar Shayok have put up some good numbers in their career against Michigan State.
Fambro has been in double digits in both of her games against MSU tallying 13 as a freshman and 14 last season.

Shayok posted a double-double last year with 10 points and 11 rebounds and has averaged 9.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in her two career outings versus the Spartans.

ANOTHER ROAD GAME
Detroit is playing its seventh game away from Calihan Hall as it visits Michigan State. The early portion of the Titans' schedule had them on the road for three games for the Preseason WNIT and a pair of contests at UTSA Thanksgiving Classic.

Good news for Detroit is that after Tuesday's road game, UDM will open a three-game homestand as well as play five of the next six in the Motor City.

CAN SHE MAKE IT EIGHT
Freshman Shareta Brown has been in double digits in scoring through the first seven games of the season - and her career.

The seven straight to open the year are the most by a Titan in the last 20 years.

ALIVE FROM THREE
Detroit was 7-of-15 from three-point range against Ball State. The seven 3-pointers matched the total it had in its previous three games combined.

UDM HOLDING OPPONENTS FROM THREE
Detroit is doing a good job getting out on defenders as the Titans are holding opponents to just 26% shooting from three-point range on the season, which is second in the Horizon League to Loyola's 24%.

UDM has seen its opponents connect on just 30-of-114 from long range.

OH SO CLOSE
The Titans might be 1-6, but with just a little luck, Detroit could easily have picked up three or four more wins. UDM dropped its first three games by a combined nine points, including a pair of two-point setbacks at Indiana State and against Howard.

UDM also had a 15-point lead in the first half against Bowling Green and led by two with 3:21 left until the Falcons ended the game on a 10-0 run, while Detroit lost another close game falling by four, 59-55, at UTSA.

Even more frustrating is that against the Sycamores and Bison, the Titans actually had a chance to win or tie in the final 30 seconds, but could not get a shot off at the buzzer at ISU, while freshman Shareta Brown's layup versus Howard just rimmed out.

In an interesting stat, despite the Titans' 1-6 record, the 19-point victory at Ball State gave UDM a -1.6 scoring margin on the season, even more evidence that all of Detroit's games have been all close and a battle until the very end.

TITANS DOMINATING THE BOARDS
Detroit has outrebounded its opponent in six of its six games on the year and owns a +7 rebounding margin on the season, which leads all Horizon League teams.

Against Bowling on Nov. 22, UDM posted a 56-31 advantage on the boards, including a 24-8 mark on the offensive glass. Freshman Shareta Brown had 18 rebounds, while junior Yar Shayok compiled 13 and those two alone had the same amount of boards as BGSU.

The +25 rebounding margin was the most by the Titans since posting a +24 mark (55-31) against Youngstown State last season.

The Titans have one other double-digit margin on the season in a 40-24 effort in the season opener at Indiana State.
On the year, the Titans are averaging 39.1 rebounds per game, and an HL-best 14.4 offensive rebounds per contest.

REBOUNDS LEADING TO POINTS
The Titans' presence down low has led to some easy buckets in the paint as well as a plethora of second-chance points.

On the season, Detroit owns a 214-156 advantage in points in the paint and a 90-68 margin in second-chance points.

WHAT CAN'T SHE DO?
Freshman Shareta Brown has brought her entire arsenal to Detroit. She has already showcased her scoring and her rebounding ability, but she is just more than a scorer and rebounder.

Brown has three games on the year with three steals and is also coming of a game against Ball State where she recorded a season-high five assists.

2 FOR 20
UDM saw a pair of players go for 20 points in the road victory at Ball State as freshman Shareta Brown and junior Demeisha Fambro each netted a game-high 21. The last time Detroit had a pair of players with 20+ points in a game was last season at Milwaukee when Dominique Dixon had 32 and Cherridy Thornton netted 20.

FAMBRO EXPLODES FOR 21
Junior Demeisha Fambro posted her third career 20-point game with a season-high 21 points against Ball State. Fambro scored the 21 in just 24 minutes of action, but was particularly explosive in the second half netting 19 points in 14 minutes.

She ended the game with a career-best 9-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from long range.

It was the second-straight year she had a big game against BSU totaling 25 last year, while her other 20-point game was in her freshman year against Eastern Michigan when she tallied 22.

HATTER STEPPING UP
Sophomore Megan Hatter has given the Titans a lot of quality minutes since she arrived on campus last year, and she is coming off one of her best games. Hatter posted a career-high seven points and five rebounds, while tying her career-best with two assists in the win at Ball State.

She is averaging 2.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, but already has more made field goals and 3-pointers then she did in her freshman campaign.

CHANAHL FROM DOWNTOWN
With a trifecta in her last game, junior Chanahl Putnam has now hit a 3-pointer in all seven games to start the season.
She started the year with three treys in her first three games and has kept the streak alive with one in each of her last four contests.

ALLEN'S ALL-AROUND GAME
Lauren Allen returns for her senior season and will look for a big year in her final collegiate campaign.

In her career, she has 35 games with five or more rebounds, 26 double digit scoring efforts as well as 23 games with five or more assists.

In her career, she is averaging 6.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

JUST A MONSTER ON THE BOARDS
Freshman Shareta Brown pulled down a season-high 18 rebounds against Bowling Green. The 18 boards combined with 16 points was her third double-double in four games.

With the 18 rebounds, Brown became the eighth player in school history to post 18+ rebounds in a game and the first since India Bruster corralled 18 at No. 22 Green Bay on Mar. 7, 2007.

The other Titans who have recorded 18+ rebounds are Lisa Blackburn, Cheryl Day (school record holder at 27), Yvette Harris, Bridget Howard, Molly Peterman and Cheryl Williams.

Day, Harris and Williams are also the only players in school history with 20+ rebound-performances in a game.

JONES LOOKING AT FIFTH
Senior Jalesa Jones is now just two assists away from Carrie Banks' fifth-place mark of 382 as well as 107 away from claiming the school record.

If she does break the Titan record of 486 - held by Mary Lillie - she will pass another familiar name in current head coach Autumn Rademacher (3rd-429).

As a freshman, Jones had 84 assists, while collecting 159 as a sophomore and 112 last year. For her career, she is tallying 3.8 apg.

YAR KEEPS CLEANING THE GLASS
Junior forward Yar Shayok now has 671 career rebounds and currently stands in sixth place in the school record books.
She will have some work to do to get into the top five as next on the list is Molly Peterman at 769.

MAKING THE MOST OF AN OPPORTUNITY
Detroit saw some seldom used players step up and make some positive plays as they look to work their way into the rotation.

Freshman Brie Wilcox came up with a season-high five rebounds and a block in just nine minutes against Utah, while sophomore Julianna Glanz came off the bench to tally a basket and grab a rebound in back-to-back games against Utah and UTSA.

Two other players who do see limited playing time also had some good performances at the UTSA Thanksgiving Classic as sophomore Senee Shearer tallied seven points and a career-high six rebounds against the Roadrunners.
Sophomore Megan Hatter hit a 3-pointer in back-to-back games finishing with five points and three boards in 17 minutes against Utah and three points, four rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes of court time at UTSA.

FOR IN DOUBLES
Detroit had four players in double figures at Ball State, the first time UDM has accomplished that since last season in a win at Loyola. The Titans were led by a pair of 20-point performances in junior Demeisha Fambro and freshman Shareta Brown, who both netted 20 apiece. Senior Lauren Allen and Yar Shayok were the other two players, who each had 11 markers.

SHE'S STARTING
Senior Jalesa Jones has started 75-straight games and 95-of-100 in her career.

The last time that she was not in the starting line-up was on Feb. 19, 2009 - her freshman year - at Youngstown State.
