Final Match Results

MILWAUKEE – Detroit was in action earlier today as the women's tennis team played at No. 69 ranked Marquette at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium in Milwaukee, WI.

Detroit was in tough as the Golden Eagles swept the double's matches to take a 1-0 lead. Marquette continued to perform well capturing each of the singles match-ups and defeating the Titans by a 7-0 score.

Sophomore Carolina Salas Espinosa (Monterrey, Mexico/Preparatoria No. 7) played well at No. 1 singles for Detroit taking her first set 6-3. Espinosa would drop the second set 6-4 and fall in the tiebreaker 10-8.

Junior Amanda Cornwell (Waterford, MI/Kettering), at No. 2 singles, dropped her opening set, and forced a tiebreaker but fell 7-1.

Detroit will return home to host Bowling Green Sunday with that match to be played at the Wimbledon Racquet Club in St. Clair Shores, MI at 4:00 p.m.
