Levell Tabbed MAAC Defensive Player Of The Week

MAAC Weekly Release

EDISON, NJ -- After helping the Titans to a win in their conference opener, sophomore goalie A.J. Levell (Columbus, OH/Dublin Scioto) was named the MAAC's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Levell posted 14 saves as Detroit cruised to a 13-9 victory over VMI last Saturday. The second-year netminder and first-year captain also picked up four ground balls as UDM moved to 1-0 in conference play. He is currently third in the league with 88 saves on the year.

It is the first time in his career that Levell has garnered the weekly accolade. It is also the fifth-straight week that a Titan has received a conference honor.

Levell and the Titans will be back in action this Saturday as Detroit travels to Jacksonville for a MAAC showdown with the Dolphins.
