WARREN, Mich. -- The Detroit women's basketball team got together with fans, donors and alumni on Thursday evening as the Titans held their annual end of the year banquet at Juliano's in Warren.

The evening started with a meet and greet as members of the Titan athletic staff welcomed all of those who came out to support the team throughout the season.

Greg Russell emceed the event that got started with an Invocation from one of Detroit's biggest fans in Sr. Beth Finster.

Detroit Athletic Director Keri Gaither opened the program with a few remarks on the season and that was followed by head coach Autumn Rademacher, who talked about the accomplishments of the team.

Rademacher and her staff then introduced the players as the Titan student-athletes received their class awards. Other awards presented on the night included sophomore Yar Shayok's Horizon League All-Defensive Team and sophomore Dominique Dixon's HL All-Newcomer Team recognition. There was also a touching moment with senior Talicia Washington addressing her team for the final time and junior Jalesa Jones presenting a gift to the departing Titan.

The 2010-11 season saw Detroit beat Michigan for the first time since 1994 – and the first time on the road since 1983 - when the Titans went into Crisler Arena and ran past the Wolverines, 67-48. Detroit also staged a great comeback against another in-state rival as the Titans erased a 12-point deficit in the final six minute to down Eastern Michigan on the road, 62-60.

The red, white and blue defeated two more state teams in Oakland and Western Michigan, and also ended a 12-game slide to conference rival Butler when the Titans went into Hinkle Fieldhouse and came away with a 55-51 victory over a Bulldogs' team that would finish second in the standings.

On the season, Detroit played a daunting schedule that included 11 teams making a postseason tournament, including seven non-conference teams. UDM saw its share of individual highlights in Shayok becoming just the fifth Titan to average double-digit rebounds (10.2), Jones moving into seventh place on the Titan all-time assists list and Dixon joining former great Cheryl Williams as the only player in school history to record back-to-back 30-point games.
