Live Stats

DETROIT -- The regular season will come to an end on Saturday and the Titans look to do what no other Horizon League team has done this season – beat Green Bay – as the nationally-ranked Phoenix visits Calihan Hall. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.

Prior to the start of the contest, Detroit will honor its lone senior in Talicia Washington. Washington, who has already earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration and is currently pursuing her MBA, played in 41 career games as a Titan due to injuries. When healthy, Washington was a force down low showcased earlier this season as she posted back-to-back double-double efforts of 10 points and 10 boards against Saint Joseph's and 11 points and a career-high 16 rebounds at Tulane.

Detroit (12-16, 6-11) already knows that it will be the seventh seed in the upcoming conference tournament although the Titans opponent is still to be determined. UDM will either host Youngstown State or Valparaiso on Monday at 7:00 p.m.

No. 15/12 Green Bay enters the contest at 28-1 on the season and 17-0 in the Horizon League. The Phoenix have already clinched the No. 1 spot in the HL championships and will have a bye in the opening round and host the winner of the No. 8-9 match-up next Wednesday.

DETROIT VS. GREEN BAY
Green Bay leads the overall series, 33-6, which includes a 69-62 triumph at home earlier in the year. The Titans defeated Green Bay, 71-55, last year in the Motor City, but the Phoenix have claimed 16 of the last 17 meetings.

The Titans are 5-12 all-time against the Phoenix at home.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX
Green Bay is currently ranked 12th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll and 15th in the AP poll. The Phoenix will be looking for an undefeated season in the Horizon League as they enter the regular season finale at 17-0 in conference play and 28-1 overall.

Green Bay's lone setback on the year was on the road at Marquette, 63-60, but since then, the Phoenix have reeled off 19-straight wins.

Julie Wojta leads the team in scoring (13.8) and is tied for the team lead in rebounding (7.4). Kayla Tetschlag is tallying 13.4 ppg., and 7.4 rpg., while Celeste Hoewisch is averaging 13.4 ppg.

LAST TIME VS. GREEN BAY
Despite a game a then career-high 31 points from sophomore Dominique Dixon, the Detroit women's basketball team was narrowly edged by No. 21 Green Bay, 69-62 on New Year's Eve.

Dixon was 12-of-18 from the field, while also hitting 3-of-4 from behind the arc and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line.

Sophomore Yar Shayok pulled down 11 rebounds, while junior Lauren Allen played well defensively recording a career-best six steals, while adding six points, six assists and four rebounds.

With the score tied at 47-all, the Titans reeled off five-straight points, and led by as many as five, 55-50, with 5:47 to go.

The Phoenix were able to get back in the game with a 9-0 run to jump out in front by four, 59-55, with three minutes left, a lead that Detroit was just not able to overcome.

Detroit did get within one possession one more time as Dixon connected on a basket to trim it to 59-57 with 2:33 left, but Green Bay hit all six of its free throws down the stretch for the win.

GOOD NUMBERS VS. GREEN BAY
Yar Shayok is averaging 9.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in three career meetings with the Phoenix. She had a double-double in last year's victory with 17 points and 12 boards, and has two double-digit rebounding games versus Green Bay in her career.

Lauren Allen has been solid all around in five career games tallying 6.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game. She has two double-digit scoring games and three contests with five or more assists.

TITAN BRACKETOLOGY
Detroit is now set to be the No. 7 seed in the upcoming Horizon League tournament and will host an opening round game on Monday at 7:00 p.m. The Titans opponent is still to be determined heading into the regular season finale on Saturday, but UDM does know that it will be either Valparaiso or Youngstown State.

A Valpo victory or a Youngstown State loss sends the Penguins to Calihan Hall, while a YSU win and a Valpo loss will have the Crusaders visiting the Motor City.

ALLEN PROVIDING OFFENSE
Lauren Allen registered a season high and tied her career high with 19 points, including 15 in the second half, off the bench in just 22 minutes of action against Milwaukee.

She ended the game 8-of-12 from the field, a season high in field goals, and a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range, which tied her career best from long range. She also grabbed five rebounds and had an assist.

Her other 19-point game also came against Milwaukee at home last year.

AGAINST RANKED TEAMS
Detroit has played seven ranked teams since Autumn Rademacher returned to her alma mater as head coach in 2008 and have recorded a pair of wins. During the 2008-09 season, the red, white and blue took down No. 23 Georgia at home, 70-66, while last season, UDM beat No. 22 Green Bay, 71-55, also in Calihan Hall.

L - 71-62 to No. 10 Michigan State, Nov. 15, 2009

THANK YOU TALICIA
Detroit will say good bye to its lone senior on the team Talicia Washington. Although she has a year of eligibility left, Washington has already earned her Bachelor's in Business Administration and is currently pursuing her MBA.

Washington has persevered through some tough injuries in her career that saw her miss the 2007-08 campaign, the 2009-10 season and most of this year.

She will end her Titan career playing in 41 career games with 20 starts, averaging 5.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

The Auburn Hills product, posted a career-high 16 rebounds earlier this year at Tulane and twice netted a career-best 14 points.

She totaled three double-doubles with two this season in back-to-back games with 10 points and 10 boards against St. Joseph's and 11 points and 16 rebounds at Tulane.

She also had a 14-point, 10-rebound effort at Loyola in 2009.

FAMILIAR FOE
UDM head coach Autumn Rademacher is no stranger to Green Bay as she was an assistant coach for the Phoenix from 2004-08, with the last season working with current Phoenix coach Matt Bollant.

During her tenure, Green Bay won four conference regular-season championships, as well as two post-season titles (2005 and '07).

JONES MOVES INTO SEVENTH PLACE
With her four assists against Milwaukee on Thursday, junior Jalesa Jones now has 349 career assists to move to seventh place in Titan history in career helpers. She now sits just 16 in back of Amira Danforth (1991-95) for sixth in the school record books.

Last season, the heady point guard put herself in the Detroit record books with 159 assists, the fourth-most in a season at UDM.

YAR APPROACHING TITAN HISTORY
If sophomore Yar Shayok can keep up her rebounding dominance, she is in line to become just the fifth Titan in school history to average double-digit boards, and the first since Cheryl Day did it with a 10.9 tally in 1990.

The other three Titans who have reached that number are:
Cheryl Williams - 14.4 (1982), 11.4 (1980) and 10.3 (1979)
Yvette Harris - 13.7 in 1978
Lydia Johnson - 11.7 in 1980

Shayok is also on the verge of becoming the first Titan to average a double-double for a season since Ford tallied 18.1 points and 10.9 rebounds during the 1989-90 campaign.

VALUE THE BALL
Detroit is coming off back-to-back games where the Titans have turned it over a season-low eight times.

The eight turnovers tie Detroit for the second least by an HL team this year and it was also the fifth time this season UDM has had 10 or fewer turnovers in a contest.

Detroit is currently 34th in the country in turnovers committing just 15.0 per game.
