With construction to the recently-announced
Dick Vitale Court at Calihan Hall underway, the Detroit Titans men's basketball staff hosted its Elite Camp at Joe Dumars Fieldhouse in Detroit Wednesday.
Elite high schooler players from around the Midwest were on hand as the UDM men's basketball program opened up its summer camp season with a camp that featured some of the Midwest's top players.
“We kicked off the camp season in a big way here at Detroit,” Titans head coach
Ray McCallum said. “I'm excited about the caliber of talent and the level of excitement that was on display. The camp was a great opportunity for these kids to play in front of our staff and receive in-depth instruction on how to improve their overall games as well as get a better understanding of NCAA rules.”
McCallum and his staff put the players through positional drills as well as intense team scrimmages. During the four-hour camp, the students were also advised on NCAA rules and regulations regarding being recruited to play college basketball as well as a session dedicated to nutrition and strength and conditioning.
UDM will host a Team Shootout Camp later this month (June 22-23).
