Facing its toughest challenge to date in these 2011 World University Games, Team USA and University of Detroit Mercy guard Ray McCallum fended off Israel, 94-84 to improve to 5-0 and grabbed the top seed in Pool D.  With the victory, the Americans will face Lithuania (4-1) in the quarterfinal round in a 6:00 a.m. Eastern tip Saturday.

McCallum continues to impress in Shenzhen, China with Team USA.  The sophomore-to-be connected on both of his field goal attempts in Thursday's win.  That effort comes on the heels of a nine-point stat line in Wednesday's win over Finland (124-64).
