Full Horizon League release
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-- The Horizon League officially announced its 2011-12 men's basketball television package to include games broadcast over the ESPN family of networks in addition to its own "Game of the Week" contests. Detroit, whom many are touting as one of the preseason favorites in the league, is listed eight times in the television schedule, with more to be announced from the school with its FOX Sports Detroit package.
The highlights include a trio of huge non-conference affairs starting with a Nov. 14 tilt at Notre Dame in a 9:00 p.m. tip on ESPNU.
The Dick Vitale Court dedication game occurs on Dec. 5 at Calihan Hall in a 7:00 p.m. start on ESPN2. Six days later, the Titans play at Alabama at 6:00 p.m. on ESPNU.
Both contests against two-time national finalist Butler will be carried on ESPN networks. The Jan. 8 game at Calihan will be on ESPN3 (espn3.com) with the road tilt at noon from Hinkle Fieldhouse on Feb. 4 on ESPN/ESPN2. The top seed in last year's league tournament, Milwaukee, will play at Calihan Friday, Feb. 10 on ESPNU/ESPN3. The Titans battle Valparaiso on Jan. 6 on ESPNU/ESPN3.
The lone Horizon League "Game of the Week" to feature the Titans is the regular season finale on Sat., Feb. 25 against Youngstown State on regional outlets. More information on where to view that game will be announced soon.
Horizon League teams also will be featured on the ESPN networks the weekend of Feb. 17-19 in the Sears BracketBusters.
All games on ESPN and ESPN2 will be carried on ESPN3 as well.
