DETROIT -- After taking care of business on Thursday with a 71-48 victory over Milwaukee, the Titans will have an early battle for the top of the league standings as nationally-ranked Green Bay visits Calihan Hall on Saturday.
Game time is set for 2:00 p.m., on Dick Vitale Court and will feature some great promotional items, including FREE PIZZA for the first 150 fans and a team autograph session after the game. The legendary voice of the Pistons George Blaha will also be on hand to do introductions and will sign autographs at halftime.
Titan athletics would like to see everyone in attendance wear Titan red as Detroit looks to upset a ranked team for the third time in the last four years, all with head coach Autumn Rademacher at the helm. UDM defeated No. 23 Georgia, 70-66, on Nov. 22, 2008, and No. 23/22 Green Bay, 71-55, on Feb. 4, 2010.
Detroit has won seven of its last eight and eight of 11 since Dec. 1, and comes into the game at 8-9 overall and 4-1 in the Horizon League. The Titans are tied for second place with Wright State as No. 14/12 Green Bay leads the HL at 4-0, with a perfect 14-0 record on the year.
The Titans never trailed in the game against Milwaukee as sophomore
Senee Shearer led the way with 20 points, the fourth time this season she has reached the 20-point plateau. In her last eight games, Shearer is averaging a team-best 17.0 points per game.

DETROIT VS. GREEN BAY
Green Bay leads the overall series, 34-6, which includes two wins last year.
Detroit won four of the first five meetings in the series, which dates back to 1995, but Green Bay has really owned the series winning 33 of the last 35 since 1998.
The Titans are 5-13 all-time against the Phoenix at home, with the last victory coming on Feb. 4, 2010, when the red, white and blue defeated then No. 23/22 Phoenix, 71-55.
ABOUT THE PHOENIX
Green Bay made the Sweet 16 last season and despite losing two senior starters, the Phoenix have picked up right where it left off. Green Bay went undefeated in non-conference play with wins over Illinois, No. 25 Georgia Tech, Marquette and Wisconsin. After Thursday's 68-50 win at Wright State, the Phoenix stand at 14-0, 4-0 in the Horizon League.
Green Bay is currently ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press Poll and 12 in the Coaches Poll, and that is after being named the preseason favorite to win the league.
Senior Julie Wojta leads the team and the HL in scoring at 20.4 ppg., and is second in rebounding at 10.1 rpg. She is also averaging 3.1 assists and an HL-best 4.4 steals per game.
Junior Adrian Ritchie is second on the team in scoring at 11.9 ppg., and 5.2 rpg., while junior Lydia Bauer is tallying 11.6 ppg.
As a team, the Phoenix is averaging 76.4 points and giving up just 56.4.
OFF TO A GOOD START
Detroit's 4-1 mark in the Horizon League is UDM's best start in the conference since going 5-1 during the 2009-10 campaign.
Detroit's seven wins in eight games is also the best stretch since going 7-1 during a period in the same season.
LAST HL LOSS FOR GREEN BAY?
Green Bay is undefeated at 14-0 on the year after going 34-2 last season with a perfect 18-0 HL record. Green Bay has won 34-straight regular season games and 30-straight regular season Horizon League contests.
In fact, the last regular season HL loss for Green Bay came right here in Calihan Hall during the 2009-10 season as the Titans downed the Phoenix, 71-55, on Feb. 4, 2010.
Green Bay did also lose in the HL semifinals that year to Cleveland State, but counting HL tournament victories, it has posted a 34-1 mark against HL opponents in its last 35 games.
AGAINST RANKED TEAMS
Detroit has played eight ranked teams since Autumn Rademacher returned to her alma mater as head coach in 2008 and has recorded a pair of wins.
During the 2008-09 season, the red, white and blue took down No. 23 Georgia at home, 70-66, while during the 2009-10 season, UDM beat No. 22 Green Bay, 71-55, also in Calihan Hall.

UDM is 4-43 all-time against ranked teams in its history with all four wins coming in the Motor City.
Besides the before mentioned victories over Green Bay and Georgia, the Titans defeated No. 3 Kansas on Feb. 14, 1981, and No. 9 North Carolina State, 60-59, on Dec. 5, 1981.
FAMILIAR FOE
UDM head coach Autumn Rademacher is no stranger to Green Bay as she was an assistant coach for the Phoenix from 2004-08, with the last season working with current Phoenix coach Matt Bollant.
During her tenure, Green Bay won four conference regular-season championships, as well as two post-season titles (2005 and '07).
STELLAR DEFENSE
The Titans held Milwaukee to 17 first-half points, the lowest for the Panthers on the year and the lowest Detroit has allowed in a half on the season. The previous low was 19 by Bowling Green in the first half earlier in the year.
The 48 points total points yielded by the Titans were the fewest by a Division I team since last season when the Titans won at Michigan, 67-48. Detroit did hold NAIA Marygrove to 27 points last season.
It was also the lowest they have allowed to an HL school since an 80-44 win against Youngstown State in 2010.
NO OPEN 3'S
UDM has held its last two opponents to a combined 8-of-35 (22.8%) from behind the arc as Milwaukee was 4-of-21 and Loyola 4-of-14.
Detroit is fourth in the HL in three-point field goal percentage defense (29.0%), while Green Bay is second shooting 37.4% on the year.
HOT SHOOTING
With Detroit's recent increase in scoring, the Titans are now second in the Horizon League in field goal percentage, connecting on 41.9% from the field.
UDM's 95 3-point field goals are also tied for the third most in the HL.
LENDING A HAND
Detroit is second in the Horizon League in assists at 14.5 per game, with Green Bay leading the league at 18.2 per game.
That team effort also has the Titans second in the HL in assist-to-turnover ratio.
CAREER DOUBLE-DOUBLE #22
After not recording a double-double in the first 15 games, junior
Yar Shayok has now posted back-to-back doubles with 10 points and a season-high 15 rebounds at Loyola and 10 points with 12 boards against Milwaukee.
The double-double marked the 22nd in her career and the 16th in Horizon League play.
JONES TOPS HL IN ASSISTS
After handing out a season-high nine assists against Milwaukee her last time out, senior
Jalesa Jones is now the HL leader in assists with 4.5 per game.
She is also second in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5, 77 assists-52 turnovers).
GETTING OFFENSIVE
The Detroit offense has really taken off in the last eight games, averaging 72.4 points per game and scoring 70 or more in six of the eight affairs.
In Detroit's first nine games, it was averaging just 57.1 points per game, and all of last year, Detroit only topped 70 points six times.
During this run, UDM is shooting 47.1% from the field and 71.2% from the charity stripe.
Also during this stretch, the Titans tallied a season-best 90 points against IPFW on Dec. 18, shooting a school record 65.5% in the process. UDM connected on 38-of-58 shots, including 22-of-29 (75%) in the second half.
The 90 points (53 in the second half) were the most by Detroit since posting 90 in a winning effort at Milwaukee last season and the most UDM has scored at home since a 94-67 victory against Cleveland State on Jan. 12, 2002.
It is also the second most by a Horizon League team this season.
On the season, UDM is fourth in the Horizon League in scoring at 63.9 points per game.
TITANS DOMINATING THE BOARDS
Detroit has outrebounded its opponent in 13 of its 17 games on the year and owns a +4.5 rebounding margin on the season, the best mark in the Horizon League.
UDM is coming off a +12 rebounding margin over Milwaukee, the fourth time this season it has recorded a double-digit rebounding margin. In that game, Detroit had a 33-13 effort on the defensive glass.
Against Bowling Green on Nov. 22, UDM posted a 56-31 advantage on the boards, including a 24-8 mark on the offensive glass.
Shareta Brown had 18 rebounds, while
Yar Shayok compiled 13 and those two alone had the same amount of boards as BGSU.
The 56 rebounds are also the second most by a Horizon League team this season, following Wright State's 57 at Loyola.
The +25 rebounding margin was also the most by the Titans since posting a +24 mark (55-31) against Youngstown State last season.
The Titans also dominated Indiana State to the tune of a 40-24 effort in the season opener and IPFW, 40-23.
On the year, the Titans are averaging 38.4 rebounds per game, including 12.5 offensive rebounds per contest, third in the HL.
SENEE SIZZLING
Sophomore
Senee Shearer has found that comfort zone in her second year.
After getting off to a slow start, the second-year guard has transformed into one of the best scorers in the HL and has been one of the main catalysts in the Titans recent strong play.
She has four 20-point games this season, including a four-game stretch where she set or tied her career highs with 15 against Michigan and 23 in back-to-back games versus IPFW and Eastern Michigan before establishing a new career high with 24 at Western Michigan.
Even with the defense starting to focus on her, she came up with back-to-back games of setting and tying her career high with four assists against Butler and Valparaiso.
Prior to this recent streak, Shearer's only career double-digit game was a 13-point effort at IPFW last season, while her season high was just seven at UTSA.
In the last eight games - seven of those Titan victories - Shearer is averaging a team-best 17.0 points with 24 of her 45 field goals from behind the arc. She is also 22-of-25 from the free throw line (88.0%).
Prior to that, Shearer was 7-of-33 (21.2%) on the season and 0-of-14 from three.
Even deeper, through her first 35 collegiate games, she was just 26-of-114 (22.8%) from the field and 6-of-56 (10.7%) from behind the arc.
